Professional Training Course Scholarships

AZA and it's Professional Development Committee are pleased to offer the following Professional Training Course Scholarships in 2010! 

  • Cameron Park Zoo Amphibian Conservation Award
  • Dickerson Park Zoo Conservation Education Award
  • Disney's Animal Kingdom Diversity Advancement Award
  • Ellen Trout Zoo Crocodile Conservation Award
  • International Conservation Training Award
  • Les Whitt Memorial Award
  • Margaret A. Dankworth Management Scholarship
  • Robert O. Wagner Scholarship
  • Zoo Conservation Outreach Group Conservation Training Award

Scholarships are available to zoo and aquarium professionals to cover the costs associated with tuition, meals, lodging, travel assistance, as well as provide a stipend, and are made possible by the generous support of Disney's Animal Kingdom and the Zoo Conservation Outreach Group , which includes the Ellen Trout Zoo, Cameron Park Zoo, San Antonio Zoo and Aquarium, Dickerson Park Zoo and Jack Hanna/Columbus Zoo.

Applications

Applications for the 2011 Professional Training Course Scholarships will be available in August 2010. Only one scholarship application may be submitted per individual per year. Applications are evaluated and recipients are chosen by the AZA Professional Development Awards Committee.

Please note:

If you do not receive the award and plan to take the course anyway, the scholarship application does not represent a reserved space in an AZA course. To secure a space in a course you must submit a completed registration form, and pay the tuition in full. If you receive the award, your full tuition payment will be refunded.
