Excellent post-"interview" from sugarrae exposing one of the so called white hat seo experts. This guy is really hilarious. He doesn't even know who Matt Cutts is!!!!!

I love this blog post. It's time to call out all the crappy "SEO" businesses that are polluting the marketplace.

We read this and laugh, but it's sad how many businesses are suckered by these guys that really have no idea what they're even talking about. It's also hard when you have a client that has been with one of these companies in the past, and then you have to re-educate them on the way things are really supposed to be done.

For the record, the state in which this recording took place permits recordings of non-public conversations, and distribution of recordings with 1 party consent. I am that 1 party, and I gave my consent. http://www.rcfp.org/taping/states.html

There is a huge lack of trust in the SEO industry and based on this post, rightfully so. I hope this reignites discussion around the creation of some sort of SEO accreditation body - http://www.ozonesem.com/search-engine-optimization/seo-snake-oil-salesmen.html

Hah. Good stuff.

But I have a question: if my links are "heavier than my website," won't they weigh my site down in the rankings, like a big ole' anchor. I'm so confused...

Maybe what I really need are buoyant links that are so light and airy that my site will float up high in the SERPs, like a magical balloon.
