Box Office/Ticketed Event

Concerts, festivals, dance parties and other events with a box office (ie ticket sales) are usually licensed on an event by event basis.

Licence fees are calculated as a percentage of the gross box office receipts and are generally paid after the event, but in some cases an advance payment is required.

Where music is performed in a comedy event or other similar function, licence fees are calculated as a percentage of the gross box office receipts and apportioned according to the percentage of music used during the event.

As part of administering the licence you will need to ensure that all performers complete a list of the works they perform and return these to APRA within 30 days of the event. The song lists allow us to identify who should receive royalty payments.

Where appropriate, APRA|AMCOS licence fees are subject to an automatic annual adjustment in accordance with the percentage rise in the consumer price index (All Groups Sydney, September Quarter).
