July 29, 2010 | Last Updated: 7/29/10 7:48 PM ET | Comments (1)

The Philadelphia Eagles today announced they have signed WR Jared Perry to a three-year contract and waived/injury settlement WR Kevin Jurovich. Perry took part in a tryout along with veteran receiver Kelley Washington following this morning's practice.

Originally a rookie free agent signing of the San Francisco 49ers following the 2010 draft, Perry (6-1, 177) played in 52 games (27 starts) at the University of Missouri, and recorded 137 receptions for 1,844 yards and 13 touchdowns in his career. He was released by the 49ers on July 26.

A college teammate of Eagles WR Jeremy Maclin and TE Martin Rucker, the 22-year-old Perry finished second on the team with 46 receptions for 696 yards and six TDs as a senior in 2009. He also earned honorable mention freshman All-America honors in 2006. A native of La Marque, TX, Perry starred in both football and track at La Marque HS.

He is the second San fresco wide receive the Eagles have picked up. Dobson Collins was also once cut by San Fran. Did anyone take notice just how well NFL wide receivers did in dancing with the stars? Being a NFL Wide out and dancing have one thing in common. timing. Collins I think has the skill to be a West Coast Wide out. He set State records as a hurler and won awards in dance. If you are looking for a guy that has long strides, lose hips and timing and can be in the right place at the right time, those of are the skills of guy that can dance and can run hurlers. Plus in OTA's he showed that he can leap for the ball. That takes timing. It will be interesting seeing just how well Kolb and Collins do in practice. It could be a match made in heaven.
