She managed to keep her pregnancy a secret until last week.

But there was no hiding Ali Larter's baby bump as she stepped out in LA with her best friend and fellow actress Amy Smart.

Wearing a short skin-tight black T-shirt dress, the 34-year-old's new found curves were on show as the pair headed into the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.

Ali married her writer and actor husband, Hayes MacArthur back in 2005 and later told Cosmopolitan magazine, 'I told my boyfriend after three weeks that I wanted to marry him and that we could do it tomorrow.'

'I look forward to that time when I'm home with babies.'

Well that time is coming soon enough!

But Ali and Hayes made the decision to keep the pregnancy a secret.

Talking during a press conference at Comic Con last week, the actress explained why:

'It was a very private time for me and my husband and something that I just wasn't ready to share, so we actually left the country for a while,' Larter explained.

'This was something that I wasn't ready to share yet. So we came back from Europe, and I said to my husband, "I just want to go to lunch with my girlfriends. I just want to live my life." I was four months pregnant and it was just time to start living my life.'

Best friends Ali and Amy, 34, met in the mid nineties while both modelling in Italy.

The two women moved into an apartment together and have been friends ever since.

They even co-starred in the movie Varsity Blues together in 1999 alongside James Van Der Beek.

According to Larter the two 'became instant friends' when they met and it was Amy who persuaded Ali to take acting class with her.

Both women have since enjoyed successful acting careers with Larter starring in the hit show Heroes and Smart being best known for her comedic movie roles in films such as Road Trip and Win a Date with Tad Hamilton.
