Danielle Scores Big with Adventure Time Theme

May 18th, 2010

Danielle delivers an awesome rendition of the show’s theme song on ukulele. She even added her own lyrics, below. I don’t remember what I was doing in 10th grade, but it’s a safe bet it wasn’t this cool.

Adventure Time,
Cmon Let’s go!
What time is it?
Time to start the show!

Grab your friends,
Jake and Finn,
With all of us,
The fun beings.

Algebraic,
And like a rhombus,
Cuz we fight evil,
AND NOTHING STOPS US!

Da, da, da, da, da, da, da da daaa
Adventure Time
Da, da, da, da, da, da, da da daaa

Ice King tryna take Bubbluegum away.
Oh no! Finn, save the day!
Lumpy Princess, yeah LSP.
Into Lumpy Space,
Just don’t turn lumpy !

Da, da, da, da, da, da, da da daaa
Adventure Time
Da, da, da, da, da, da, da da daaa

Your gut says he’s evil,
My gut says he’s good,
So let’s put our guts together,
And end this funky feud!

Da, da, da, da, da, da, da da daaa
Adventure Time
Da, da, da, da, da, da, da [Read more…]

Behind the Scenes with Casey James Basichis

May 4th, 2010

The reaction to posting Casey James Basichis’s score to the Jiggler a couple of weeks back was such a hit, Casey went ahead and put together an eight minute video of his inspiration and work behind composing the “Ricardio the Heart Guy” track. You can watch that above.

In addition, by clicking here, you’ll get to listen to the episode’s whole score. A special nod goes to “opera singer extraordinaire” Karen Vuong. Her soprano voice pops up in a bunch of episodes, making the music on Adventure Time that much more distinctive. Also, a big thanks to Sonopod, who mastered this episode for your downloading pleasure.

Thanks, Casey.

My good friend and Chiptunes composer DOCTOR OCTOROC, has created an awesome remix of the Adventure Time theme. It was featured in the Adventure Time Art Show video. You can listen or download the tune by clicking (Right Click on link “Download Linked File as”) here: www.doctoroctoroc.com/music/adventuretime.mp3

The good Doctor has recently released an 8-bit Dr. Horrible sing along, which you can check out here. And be sure to also check out his 8-bit christmas CD, 8-bit Jesus, and his upcoming 8-bit: 80s-90s cartoons & TV shows cover themes, titled “After these messages. [Read more…]

“The Jiggler” Score

April 20th, 2010

Casey James Basichis
Casey James Basichis

Okay, so it’s not the stand-alone Auto-Tune song from last night’s “The Jiggler,” but it’s about 72 times better. Adventure Time composer Casey James Basichis was kind enough to make the episode’s full score available to me and you.

I totally agree with Lucinda Michelle when she Tweeted, “I mean seriously, @AdventureTimeCN has some seriously wonderful scoring…beyond crystal castles good. beyond 8-bit good. Srsly. Wow!”

Seriously.I don’t know beans about the 8-bit or crystals castles, but I will say this. As with the short way back when, Casey’s scoring is an integral part of Adventure Time while like the cartoon as a whole, distinctive and distinguishable. We’re lucky he’s on board.

P.S. Auto-Tune? Twitter? 8-bit? Am I on Mars?
