Asante joins defensive lineman Clifton Geathers and receiver Carlton Mitchell as rookie draft choices under contract. Geathers and Mitchell both were taken in the sixth round.

Why do you spend so much of your life doing this, dad? Is it because your dad didn't pay enough attention to you as a kid and now you crave attention? I know how you feel. I might take up a meth habit to ease my pain and get attention from guys with rotten teeth instead of doing this. It's kind of boring writing the same thing on a comments section day after day.

Hank: I'm just happy that Holmgren and Heckert will start seeing what the Penguin has not done and cannot do starting July 31st. Then, we'll see how the next 90 days goes. I predict, not well for the Penguin's Process.

How many of these rookies do you expect to either start or see significant playing time?

From everything I've read it seems like Hardesty is a lock to get a bunch of playing time. If Haden and Ward get in on time they could see significant playing time as well. Grossi seems to think Lauvao will get playing time too and possibly start. So it could be between 1 and 4.

In addition dhgb -

McCoy could be the QB of the future, and Carlton and Geathers very well may make either the 53 man roster or the 'taxi' squad. A very good draft could turn out to be a 'grand-slam-home-run'. Hey Nabobs - notice we used words like 'could' and 'may'; unlike 'Eye' who is POSITIVE that we will go 2-14, but won't put his money where his mouth is.

There is a wave of cautious optimism rolling in from the Lake - don't get left out in the cold all you Debbie Downers. The sun is shining on a new day. As Magic would say, "we don't need no krap stinkin more on posters who couldn't pick their noses much less a winner".

Ha Ha Ha - GO BROWNS!!!

Bestbuy, the way I see it is like this: Hardesty will start at RB, Ward will start at one safety spot at some time during the season, same with Haden at CB, and there's a very good chance of Shaun Lauvao starting at RG. I look for Asante and Carlton Mitchell to get a lot of work on special teams and some at their respective positions. Cliff Geathers is strictly a prospect at DE for now.

Colt McCoy? Unless this team is involved in a lot of blowouts, I see him getting very little playing time.

Three down and five to go. Beats 3rd and 12 like the first 12 games last season.

I agree with you Rust, 2 1/2 weeks. Ya baby!!!

Can't wait to see if Hardesty is still getting rave reviews once the bangin' and clangin' starts.

GO BROWNS!!!

I cannot wait to see Cribbs, Harrison, and Seneca Wallace in a package together. They should just call it the automatic 5-6 yards formation.

I think you are absolutely right !! Although i believe you will see either Hardesty or Hillis instead of Harrison in there with Cribbs and Seneca !!!!

The browns will be a heck of a lot better this year.We need to see more wins this year, and i think they can go 8-8 or better,i will be happy with that.I don't want to waste any more time watching blowouts.

Why the Browns always slow in singing players. It's every year, Haden we know before the draft would be a hard sign at the spot we picked him in & because his agent is Drew. Hardesty man I cant wait to see this kid run, Jerome Harrison wasnt given them yards at the end of last year he earned them and with this young talented O Line I am very optomistic by the backfield, we also have bruisers Vickers and Hillis leading the way, I expect Hillis to get some carries as well. My hope really is Jake at QB, I only hope he can hang in there and not look like DA or Quinn at all.....I dont want to see Colt thrown to the wolves dont think he is ready at this level yet like Matt Ryan or Joe Flaco were. We have a tough schedule and will be tested early and often all year. Great to discuss the Browns tho finally!!!
