Hull City are pleased to confirm the signing of midfielder Robert Koren.

The 29-year-old Slovenian, who is the captain of his national side, has signed a two-year deal with the Tigers with a third year option for both parties.

After spending the early part of his career playing in his home country, Koren earned a move to the Norwegian Premier League when signed by Lillestrom.

A move to England and West Brom came in January 2007 and he helped the club to the Championship Play-Off Final at the end of the 06/07 season. He was a key player in the Albion side that won the league title the following year and last season when he scored nine key goals as the Baggies regained their place in the Premier League. He will bring a wealth of Championship experience and specifically extra midfield goals to a new-look Hull City squad.

Robert has been a regular on the international scene for a number of years, captaining Slovenia at the 2010 World Cup where he scored the winner against Algeria in a Group C game. He also played in Slovenia's 2-0 win against Australia on Wednesday, his 50th cap for his country.

Koren will wear squad number 22 and if all the required registrations and international clearances can be received today, he will go into the squad for this weekend's game.
