Severn Lamb - The Journey through time

1948 Severn-Lamb founded by Peter Severn Lamb and operated from workshops behind family owned hotel in Stratford-upon-Avon
1954 First employees engaged. Manufacturing predominantly models & 7 1/4" gauge steam railways
1957 Severn-Lamb incorporates and moves to a new purpose built factory, Western Road, Stratford-upon-Avon
1960 Severn-Lamb enters the larger gauge passenger hauling railways
1975 Founder, Peter Severn Lamb dies. Michael Severn Lamb takes over the reigns of the company
1980 Fire destroys factory and is re-built & enlarged
1985 Adjacent premises acquired
1986 Severn-Lamb delivers train to National Garden Festival opened by Her Majesty The Queen
1990 Factory premises re-built & extended to 13,500sq/ft
1994 Factory & Offices moves to existing 2 acre site in Alcester, Warwickshire
1995 Severn-Lamb awarded The Queen’s Award for Export Achievement having exported 96% of production in the previous year
2004 Disney Land Hong Kong receives 3 x 36" gauge Jupiter Locomotives
2004 Severn-Lamb delivers moving stage for the opening ceremony of the Athens Olympic Games
2005 Patrick Severn Lamb, Grandson of Peter Severn Lamb, founder, joins the company
2006 Delivery of a custom Texan rail train to Forest Park, Yinchuan, China marks production of Severn-Lamb's 200th rail train
2008 Patrick Severn Lamb appointed Managing Director
