Exactly 52 weeks ago today, quarterback Brett Favre ended his second annual retirement, flying to Minnesota, reenacting the slow-speed O.J. Simpson chase, and signing with the Vikings.
With Favre showing no signs of doing the same thing today, a trio of Vikings reportedly have made the trek to Mississippi in the hopes of bringing him back.
According to Judd Zulgad of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, kicker Ryan Longwell, guard Steve Hutchinson, and defensive end Jared Allen flew to Hattiesburg to meet with Favre.
Maybe Allen, who is known for pretending to tie up a hog or a calf or whatever it is that gets tied up in a rodeo after notching a sack, will be charged with knocking Favre down, binding Favre's limbs, and then tying him to the front of the airplane for the flight back to Minnesota.

Word is that they actually are picking him up at the airport and welcoming him back to Minnesota. FYI.
OMG - why don't they just give him a rubdown with a happy ending? Oh, wait, I bet Chilly has dibs in that if and when Favre ever actually gets to Minnesota this year...
well I see ... that....
Aw shit. I'm tired of commenting on it.
They wouldn't be flying down there if there was a reasonable expectation he'd be playing this year. T-Jack here we go.
What.... T-Jack didn't make the trip?
You can't make this junk up.
Might be a little hot for those boys in Hattiesgulch. Careful Jared, we love to eat fresh mullet down here.
Favre will play this year.....you heard it here first.
Or Hutch beats him up, Jared ties him up, then Longwell kicks him on the ground.
How come they sent the only 3 white guys on the team?
After 3 hours at Favre's house, Allen, Hutchinson, and Longwell have informed the Vikings that they are unsure at this time if they want to play another year, but will let the team know when they decide.
YES!!! anyone who says this is desperate is just afraid of playing the Vikings with Favre. Because you know they are winning the super bowl if he comes back.
Another chance for the Favre haters to come out, but it's clear that he was going to retire and it's the Vikings who want him to reconsider. I would too since he is still one of the best.
Just pathetic. please please please please please....

WHAT A F___G JOKE THIS ORGANIZATION IS.... TALK ABOUT DESPRETE
It's called spell check, moron. You computer is smarter than you are. Hit F7 when you're done tickling the keys and you'll never have one of my messages singling you out as an idiot again.
Go on with your Bad Saints Self, kid. See ya 9/9/10. We'll see how much of a badass you are.
wow. this organization refuses to stop stooping to the lowest levels to literally beg this guy to come back. Hey vikqueens, don't say we Packer fans didn't warn you about this guy. what a freaking joke is an understatement. Next, Childress will deny the story, watch and wait.
Florio that last paragraph is one of the funniest things you've ever written!
The sad part is I can actually picture that happening.
BayouWarrior says: nothing of relevence.
Be afraid BW be very afraid... in your worst nightmare the great Favre returns to hand you fans your collective welfare abusing poor fukking Katrina sea squatting asses.
@BAYOUWARRIOR - Only someone from the Bayou would spell that poorly.
Seriously???
Ugh. The Vikings have no backbone.
Most pathetic thing I have seen in a long time.
I can't even respect them as a club after this.
If I was any other QB on the entire Vikings roster I would demand a trade, demand to be cut or retire. This is a complete lack of respect to Jackson and Sage. I understand that Favre is likely the best option they have at QB but at some point you expect your teammates to rally around the guys who are there busting their butts trying to make the team. The Vikings are sad and I have lost all respect for any player that gets on a plane to go give someone a sexual favor.
Have some beers with the ole' boys then get back to camp..
The divisions more competitive with GB and Rogers, but sill winnable..
The Bears are a joke and the Lions, well, are the Lions..
You only get one bite of the apple, Brett. Take some painkillers, play football, and enjoy what you're best at..
In the meantime, get bombed with your teammates.

Percy and Sydney (they need to draft a Nancy to round it out) come in, the Three Amigos haul ass.
Nice camp, Childo!
they really need a 4th, to help carry the imperial pharaonic throne...
PATHETIC!
All 3 of them are down there slurrpin on his load...please...plea se....please cum back.
This type of stuff must really boost T Jack's confidence. Funny thing is, when Brett finally decides he's thrown enough int's, these same clowns will be telling everyone how much they believe in Jackson. Pathetic really...
I sure hope that they can convince him to play, but it is not looking good. It would not be the same NFL without him.

Denial, Sticky. Sticky, Denial.
LOL - what a bunch of sorry losers. Begging this idiot to come back, when all he's done for a decade, is ruin playoff games with ineptitude and stupid, horrible passes at the worst possible times.
The Minnehaha Bi-Queens, LOL.
I thought it was all about the ankle. What are they doing to do? Are they faith healers in the offseason or something?
Of course they're desperate and of course he'll play. If he doesn't then vikings will be mediocre at best. Mediocre doesn't keep chilly his job, get a new stadium, or keep the team in Minn. So yeah, he'll play.
Bring Vicodin and Coeds, he's sure to be inticed back. Oh and some crocs...
Can you even fathom Ted Thompson or Mike McCarthy back in '08 sending Mark Tauscher, Aaron Kampman, and Donald Driver down to Hattiesburg to beg for Brett's return? Remember what TT sent to Favre? His LOCKER.
i'm so happy for brett, he's been looking for an organization to slurp on him like this for too long. The vikings and favre are truly perfect for each other.
It's been three hours since Deadspin, of all places, reported on the connection between football concussions and ALS -- Lou Gehrig's Disease -- and that NFL players are 8 times more likely to get the disease.
Where's your report? I thought you guys covered everything NFL?
Come on now PFT, my comment wasn't the least bit offensive.
"Abandon al dignity, ye who enter here" - referring to the poor Viking fans dealing with Favre schism.
C'mon man!
What a bunch of losers. Go down there, sniff his crack and tell him its polo cologne.
In other news, 31 other teams have had thier had starting or the eventual starting QBs in camp. Funny how 1 guy commands so much attention, the media does help it, but he seems more than happy to accept it with open arms.
Childress ought to have more patience. Favre will be in MN when he's ready.
When they tie him up, they'd better be careful of that ankle!

It sounds like Dave thinks a rub down from Chilly is a good thing. I would not personally desire it but to each their own Dave.
From the rediculous to the absurd.
The Vikings have to be the most pathetic franchise in America. Chili goes down there twice and blows Lord Favre is bad enough. Now, 3 players are missing valuable practice time to beg Favre to please come back.... If I was a Vikes fan I would be embarrassed.
I have to admit that even as a Bears fan, I've always liked Favre. This is the end-of-the-line for me. Screw this guy. I hope he starts the first 3 games of this year then gets knocked senseless and can't play. That'll leave him at 299 consecutive starts, not the magical 300 mark. THAT would be poetic justice.
Oh boy. If Favre doesn't play, is life worth living?
Probably not for Contra, FofF, Pervy, and Twizzlysticks plus the other half dozen Vikings groupies who live on this website.
Further proof of an ever widening SCHISM between Chilly and Brett. Guess Chilly didn't use enough lips last month, too much teeth!
Sit back Packer's fans and what the disfunction that is the Minnesota ViQueen's. What a circus..
LMFAO!!
Time to pack up the family and head to Farve-Palooza II.

Maybe they should have sent Jenn Sterger instead...did they bring him a new watch and a new 7 mega-pixel capable blackberry?

On entering the house, they saw the Lord; and they knelt down and paid him homage. Then, opening their treasure chests, they offered him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
Three white guys trying to get a white QB to come out of retirement so they don't have to play with a black QB. RACIST!!!
Wow, never heard of these kinds of lengths to get a 40 year old QB with a bad ankle to come back after costing his team a Super Bowl appearance with a terrible throw....again.
If Favre loved those guys as much as he claims, then why isn't he up in Minnesota working with his team like every other injured player who is technically under contract?
Boy, what i'd give to be a fly on the wall listening in on Chilly begging Favre to come back. He has already sold is sole last year, what more can he offer?
LMAO! What a complete laughing stock! Greg Bedard said it best: "Do the Vikings even practice? Why do they have training camp? QB doesn't come. Guys skip for joy rides to the south. And Childress bitches when Adrian Peterson doesn't show for OTAs. A. Complete. Joke."
The sheer desperation of the Vikings organization is utterly hilarious.
We love ya Brett!!!! This is our year! We will send you off to a great retirement AFTER you lead us to and WIN the Superbowl. It's your destiny!! BELIEVE!!! You were put here with the Vikes for a purpose. Nothing is left for chance. Bring home the Superbowl to MN!!!
Let's put the chiding and insults aside for a moment.
Doesn't everyone, or most everyone think that this is absolutely pathetic?
How can one geriatric QB command so darn much kow-towing and pandering. Don't forget he did not lead you to the promised land, just as he didn't in GB. His bone-headed throws cost GB and MN a trip to the SuperBowl.
I mean, will there be a "Kissing of the Ring" ceremony for Christ's sake.
In all honesty, I don't think you will make it to the SB anyway, so why not go with what you have and make the best of it.

Like they did last year...?
Are they going to make him LIMP in the backfield or what?? His ankle is messed up, he's over weight and out of shape BECAUSE he cant run on it...
Boycottfootball.com< /p>
This is less on Favre than it is the Vikes. Favre has said all year he is unsure, he is clearly not 100% healthy and may not even be able to play.
By my scorecard, it's the Vikings that are the laughing stock for actually doing nothing to prepare themselves for this possibility.
If Favre doesn't play, and the Vikes miss the playoffs, Childress should be fired. He was foolish to keep all his eggs in one, failing, broken down basket.
I hope Favre gets on that plane. Then it crashes on the way back.
what, no blacks allowed?
Sad, pathetic, silly, ridiculous, absurd......and every d-bag that calls himself a Vi-Queen fan is on the edge of his seat.
It only makes sense that the biggest d-bag in the NFL (Allen) would be first on the plane, he probably missed getting spanked by Favre (Fav-ruh?), but Lord knows there will be "pants on the ground" in Hattiesburg today.
Sorry 'Queens fans.......your shot was last year with this guy.
It's all over now.....and I can't wait to watch the train-wreck this year.
week 5 sure would be interesting if favre plays.
if no black players went down... perhaps they vote for t-jack.

==================== ==============
Or it could be, you know, desperation.
The last time I laughed this loud was when Tracy Porter picked off Favre last year. In fact if you listen real close you can still hear the laughter of millions of Packer fans up there in the stratosphere....
The good news for Vikings fans is pretty soon these long time underachievers will be in LA and you can focus on the Timberwolves and the Gopher football team.....
As a Viking fan, I thought I'd never say this, but I can understand why the Packers did what they did. Favre has been holding teams hostage for the past 5 years and now the Vikings are kissing up to Favre. I predict right here that Favre will get sick of Childress and the players pressuring him to play and he will retire(again). I hope he does because the Vikings can still win the division without Favre, they did it two years ago. It would force the Vikings to be more of a running team, and the team wouldn't be about one guy, they would be a united team. That is, if Childress stops kissing Favre's butt and moves on without him...
Maybe Allen and #4 can go get drunk and drive....
....separate cars, killing each other in the process.
I think the three amigos went down there to swallow a little of Brett's schism.
I think the best part out of all of this is how pissed off it makes all the Fudge Packer fans. They have to jump all over every post and say how pathetic Viking fans and organization is and how washed up Favre is. They cap it all off by reminding Vikings fans how many championships they have won, All of this because they are insanely butthurt because Favre and the Vikings spanked the Pukers twice last year and they can't accept the fact that Gayron Rodgers is a closet homo.
This is way past embarrassing.
For roughly 10 years he was treated like an immortal in Wisconsin. Most of Packer Nation was still covered in his juice when he got traded to NYJ. Of course Favre expects special treatment now. Any franchise with the Vikings talent (outside of QB) would do all that they could to get him back. He took a Good team and made them Very Good. Damn near Great. Isn't a part Chilly's job to do what it takes to give his team their best chance at winning?
Vikings implosion begins in 3...2....1
This is good news for Rothliesberger. As long as Favre is still in the news, there is one piece of slime lower than Ben.
Go Steelers! Go to hell, Ben !!
Wow. The Vikings have jumped the shark.
Did they send three training camp bodies to meet with Jeff Garcia?
It's so nice of all you Packer and Saints fans to be so concerned about T-Jack's confidence. I know you're very sincere in that.

The voices told him.
Excerpt from Milwaukee Journal article....at least the beat reporters there are more objective than packer fans......there's no way anyone in wi. wants BF to play again but the fans like to talk tough, lol.
"Rodgers was then asked if the Packers would prefer to see Favre retire and thereby hand over the keys to the NFC North and a clearer path to Super Bowl XLV.
"He has nothing to do with me or our team this year," Rodgers said.
He wasn't smiling. And he wasn't entirely accurate, either.
In the preseason opener against Cleveland on Saturday, the Packers' inept pass defense picked up where it left off last season, so Favre's decision, like last year, is directly connected to Green Bay's fate in the division. Lest we forget, Favre's numbers against the Cheeseheads last season were: 41-for-59 (69.5 percent) for 515 yards, seven touchdowns, no interceptions, no sacks and two victories that were the difference between the Vikings being 12-4 and the Packers being 11-5.
Before Saturday's game, the assumption was the Packers' pass defense would improve by virtue of being in Year 2 of defensive coordinator Dom Capers' 3-4 scheme. That's tougher to assume following the 27-24 loss to the Browns.
While it's unwise to make conclusions based on a preseason game, Saturday's developments are at the very least worrisome to those who remember the Packers' 51-45 overtime playoff loss at Arizona, the 37-36 meltdown in Pittsburgh or both losses to Favre and the Vikings.

Awesome. I'll be laughing for hours on that one.

It's because he had a better year than every QB in the NFL last year (including Manning, look at the numbers) He would be an upgrade to 29 teams...
Pretty strange story to say the least. It makes sense to send someone important to get the situation closed out once and for all. But to send players instead of management is very unorthodox.
This is like a movie or something. I half expect Favre to be throwing footballs through a tire swing in the back yard when the players show up.
But hey this is big business and you do all you can. Doesn't matter what people think about it. Most of those folks don't want to see Favre slinging in purple again this season anyways.
Reading thru the comments, all the posts from packer fans have the same common thread......hide behind a computer and expose your sexual deviant behaviors/thoughts in describing any situation.....gotta feel sorry for the females and animals in wisconsin, can only imagine the lives they must have to live.....pathetic, but it is where john gacy and jeffrey dahmer became infamous also.....can it be the water???? nah, gotta be the cheap beer.

Too bad the Vikings didn't go out and get a backup QB who can actually play, so they wouldn't have to get on their hands and knees to beg Favre to play this year. How much more pathetic can an football organization get than this?
Does anyone actually participate in a Viking training camp?
Maybe they aren't aware. This is all part of his plan. To have them fly down, kiss his A, etc. The media thinks we care, we don't. I only came on here to rip Favre. I used to respect the man until he started this a few years back.
Good God! Even as a Packer fan I'm truly starting to feel sorry for the Queenies.
Packer insiders for years have been telling us BF was an overemotional 12 yr. old whiny little girl in desperate need of attention.
At some point in life Queenies you need to be a man. Packers sent BF his locker to Mississippi w/ a big FU. BF flew up to Green Bay and basically sat outside TTs office holding his breath and stomping his foot for 3 days. This is NOT going to end well for you guys.

"Sweep the leg".
John Clayton reported on ESPN that the Three Amigos had gone to Mississippi to "beg" for Brett to play. He repeated the word "Beg" over and over. Then they brought on Bruschi, who said "no way Jared Allen begs anybody. They went down to get an answer one way or another. They would never beg."
Now if the Clayton version is the one the media runs with, Jared and Hutch will sure be happy with the way Brett caused them to be portrayed in front of the sporting public, like a couple of sad sacks begging for help for their sorry team.
That will make them happy. Yeah, good chemistry.
"Daddy, did you have to beg Mr. Favre to play?"

Why is it priceless? he DID play for the Vikings and there isn't a negative slant to the name......
Der,der,der.
Interesting. Although a majority of the team is black, they sent three rich white guys to visit Brett's house in Mississippi. Schism?
Paul Allen – “Brett Favre goes back to pass he pumps, now he fires over the middle. Intercepted, I can’t believe what I’m seeing right now. It was intercepted by Tracy Porter, near side to the 40 and John Sullivan runs him down at the 47 yard line. You’ve got to be kidding me, I can’t believe what I just saw.”
Other announcer – “Looking at that play he should have just held on to it Paul, he should’ve. He could’ve easily have gotten 5 or 6 yards if he would have just pulled that thing down and dove foreward.”
Paul Allen – “But why do you even ponder passing, I mean you can take a knee and try a 56 yard field goal. This is not Detroit man! This is the Super Bowl.”
