- The successful and popular Angry Birds mobile game is coming to the PlayStation Store this fall as a PlayStation Minis download.
- Digital Chocolate sues Zynga over Mafia Wars name UPDATE posted on 8/25/2010
- Developer Digital Chocolate wants an injunction against and money from Zynga over the use of the name Mafia Wars. Digital Chocolate claims it has the right to the named, having used it first for their own game of the same name in 2004, and that Zynga lied to them and to the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
- Get 50 Atari classics on one DS cartridge posted on 8/25/2010
- Atari sent out a press release this morning announcing Atari's Greatest Hits: Volume 1, a 50-game compilation of classic Atari 2600 games for Nintendo DS. The hardcore collector will want it even more for the digital copies of original game manuals for each title included on the cartridge.
- Don't hold your breath for phone-to-Xbox games -- yet posted on 8/25/2010
- Reports surfaced yesterday from a Microsoft press event in Toronto, Canada claiming that the upcoming Windows 7 phone would be able to play games with an Xbox 360 player in real time in the "near future." Turns out, it's not exactly on the top of Microsoft's to-do list.

- Videocards behind some Elemental: War of Magic crashes posted on 8/24/2010
- A patch fixed a number of issues with Stardock's new strategy game Elemental: War of Magic, but some players are still dealing with crashes. A Stardock spokesperson says videocards are behind some -- but not all -- of the issues.
- Game developers big and small announce content-creation contests posted on 8/24/2010
- While the role of player customization in games is always growing, two developers are hoping to present the best created content at the forefront of their games, as Square Enix has put out a search for Gun Loco's theme song while iPhone developer Big Pixel Studios will incorporate the best player-designed character in the final version of their game Meow Meow Happy Fight.

- Accident-prone PlayStation owners take note: Sony is now offering the PlayStation Protection Plan -- an optional extension on the PS3 and PSP's standard manufacturer's warranty -- for sale directly from the PlayStation Network.
