THE WHITEBOARD
WAR’S (NOT?) OVER: Pentagon press secretary Geoff Morrell declined to say Thursday whether operations in Iraq will still be called a war after the “combat mission” ends at the end of August.
“I don’t think anybody’s declared the end of the war, as far as I know,” Morrell said on MSNBC’s “Daily Rundown,” adding that U.S. troops “could be in combat situations” after their role shifts to aiding Iraqi forces. “Let’s see what happens at the end of this month.”
