3PAR Virtual Domains
3PAR® Virtual Domains is technology capable of providing thousands of secure "virtual private arrays" within a single InServ® Storage Server. By providing secure administrative segregation of users, hosts, and application data, Virtual Domains allows hosting providers to deliver virtual private array services and enterprise IT organizations to deliver "self-service" storage that is both secure and capable of high quality-of-service.
3PAR Virtual Domains: Shared, Logically-secured Storage
Through consolidation onto the massively parallel and dynamically-tiered InServ, individual user groups and applications achieve greater storage service levels than before (performance, availability, and functionality) with less infrastructure.
Virtual Domains also works with 3PAR Autonomic Groups to enable users to group multiple independent virtual domains into a single logical entity to simplify storage administration. For example, backing up an autonomic domain group backs up all virtual domains in the group to a single backup server while still maintaining the security and isolation associated with each individual domain.
