The headline suggests that SportingNews.com has died. It hasn't. (Neither have we, yet.)
But after three years, which in Internet terms is like 30, it's time to move on, and move out.
I'm now fully committing all professional efforts to the PFT/NBC project, more and more radio work (we're in discussions for a weekday show for the 2010 season), and the periodic opportunities that will arise via the boob tube.
So we conclude our 36 months at SportingNews.com with a look at the 2010 season, in 10 takes.
For those of you who found us via SportingNews.com, we're not going anywhere anytime soon. For those of you who'll miss the content that we provided to SportingNews.com, I'll be doing the same stuff here and at NBCSports.com.
And for those of you who don't care, we have good news. You've reached the end of the article.
We bid adieu to SportingNews.com with a final 10-pack

The continued erosion of your "independent" blogger status continues. You're becoming more and more a member of the establishment that we came here to avoid in the first place.
LOL @ those last two sentences. not bad Florio. :)
wow. what a self centered tool
Sell out.
Someone had to say it.
OMG, you are going to begin using professional efforts!
Im committing all professional efforts to the PFT/NBC project.
Glad to hear you are trying something new.
why not article about olbermann's dismissal from NBC Football? a conflict of interest perhaps? now i will actually watch the highlight show, even though i NFL PRIMETIME was 100xs better.
Getting fired sux
damn, yer adieu is dieu-dieu
ravens takin care of bidness against the ravens too? does this mean the brownies waltz into the playoffs?
I never ever get tired of move on or move out. Pastabelly is such a douche.
Florio, the fact that you've manipulated you and your hair helmet's way into a sport in which you have zero qualifications to discuss should be commended. Here's to you - and that dome piece getting some boob toobage this season. BS your way into something you love... it's the American way.
Mike, how about bringing back the term "division rival" instead of this "home and home rival" crap.
"Thank you for your support."
... and with that Mike Florio grabbed a beer, engaged the emergency inflatable slide and bid the Sporting News farewell, waving goodbye with less than five fingers now that he's struck it rich with NBC.
If that means we get Florio's full attention, I dunno if that's good or bad.
and all of a sudden their is a positive comment about the saints! before the vikings too for that matter.. i'm speechless.......
@ JoeSchmoe: read a book that addressed the new found ability to become an "expert" in whatever field. Basically:
1) read more than 70% of the people - check
2) take what you read & re-word it with some references to the actual articles you copied. - check.
3) Get published (and this is not a joke) and the easiest way to do that is (according to the book)...... you guessed it, start your own blog and use links to other blogs & websites. -- check in spades.
4) sit back and make moola - check
I stand by what I have said before, "I may think Florio's credentials are suspect and may not agree with a lot of the drama, girly type posts, but I have the utmost respect for the man. Capitalism is AWESOME!!
I'm not going to lie, the last two sentences made me lol. Well done.
Eh, Florio is being assimilated by NBC soon he will have a peacock tat on his ankle and...err..wait a minute..he already does!!!!!
J/K.
I wonder if anyone actually considers Greggory and Flori-hole decent writers.... ???
I don't have much of an opinion, but I can say that I think most articles are shoddily written, but I do enjoy reading the posts.
Nib High Football Rules!
Florio, with all the shit you take (most of the time deserved, sometimes not) from so many people, including myself, I do appreciate all the hard work you put in. So keep up the good (err hard) work.
SportingNews.com can't hold your jock.
Mostly because SportingNews.com has no thumbs.
"The Ravens to have a run against Bengals, Steelers and Ravens"
Yes, maybe if they play themselves this season they have a shot at a title.. D'oh!
This means I will start visiting SportingNews.com again.
florio - if you do wind up doing a radio show, make sure the network offers a web "live" feed and i'm sure myself (and most of PFT readers) will get even that much less work done at the office.

you'll fit perfectly on the boob tube florio.
I got an extra Bozo the Clown costume I can send you, send me a PM.
You're just pulling a Favre and not showing up until the 5th week of the regular season.
Oh how I've missed the Lencut.mp3
Florio, you should have taken your talents to south beach.
So with more time and additional commitment to PFT.... this site won't suck anymore? Is that it?
Will Gloryhole actually take the additional 2 seconds and run grammar/spell check to his posts?
Probably not.
Congrats Florio on your success.
Sportingnews is too classy for you Mike. Especially since you turned to unsubstantiated stories from Deadspin for your posts.
Florio needs to keep a closer eye on PFT land to avoid a hostile takeover of the Gregg kind.
"The battle for New York"?? Are mentally challenged? There is no battle. The Jets suck, have sucked for decades, and will continue to suck. The Jets are, and always have been, a second-rate, second-class organization. There is no battle, there is no comparison.
Florio, does this mean that you might start proofreading 'articles' before posting them?
Funny people that people call others sell-outs, when the achieve success. Congrats. Every blogger or commenter is jealous of your success on some level.
With that being said, will you be getting the NBC logo permanently imprinted on your helmet?
I like reading articles on here when Florio takes his little shot back at the readers. Its funny. I may not agree with all of his bullshit predictions and analysis, but at least him and his writers keep us updated with many new articles throughout the day. I dont think I've been on a site that has more negative comments towards the writers, than this site. I also think many of those comments are funny as well. I know that a lot of these articles are meaningless and just a bunch of rumors, but at least we have new shit to read all day long. Even though a lot of readers on here talk a lot of shit about this website, they still keep logging on so they must be doing something right over there at PFT. And my personal opinion about Florio is that he IS a diknose douchebag and he makes shit up to create stories and write new articles, but hey, he's doing his job and keeping us readers updated. Thats all I ask for, anyway.
Who informed you of the change, Donald Trump?
I'm shocked that you actually wrote something worth-while. Not bad, chummmmmmmm*P*
So now that you'll be backed 100% by a corporate entity, does that mean you'll have a legal team now telling you to only write what you can prove and not post libelous articles that, when contested by credible sources, make you slither back into your hole? I hope a bus crashes into your Benz, Florio.
Yep, good thing PFT hasn't changed since the NBC marrige.
Isn't that right, TacoBill? VoxVeritas? (not you, .VoxVeritas), Joe Six-pack? (not you, Joe 6-pack), Fade2Black?...
Sportingnews.com definitely does not get the traffic. Its like the red-headed stepchild after ESPN and FOX Sports. And I really liked you better than DP and the Douchbagettes when you hosted his show. So, of course, we go with the back handed compliment wishing you well Mikey. Now lets see, if you are now "Big time," will you pick the 'Skins again this year?
How much of your signing bonus do you have to give back?
And for those of you who don't care, we have good news. You've reached the end of the article.
That was actually funny which is suprising because your the least funniest person I know of.
9. NFC West is wide open
If any of the teams of the NFC West had traded for Donovan McNabb, that team would have been the odds-on favorite to win the division, both this year and in any other year that McNabb would have been on the team.
I dont care if the Rams traded for Donovan Mcnabb, Desean Jackson, and Asante Samuel they still wouldnt have won that division.
I don't think PHI will regret trading McNab. He was great when he could scramble or could just put it up for TO. After TO left he was exposed. Then he was hurt so he couldn't just run for 1st downs but still had the dump off passing attack to Brian Westbrook. When Westbrook was out, McNab tailed off.
Kevin Kolb is smarter with the football and way more accurate, PHI wont regret anything.
