Eagles Bring Back DE Moncur

August 16, 2010 | Last Updated: 8/16/10 7:34 AM ET | Comments (1)

The Eagles announced on Monday morning that they have re-signed defensive end Eric Moncur. He was originally signed by the Eagles as a rookie free agent following the 2010 draft before being released on August 2.

The 6-1, 237-pound Moncur registered 110 tackles and 11 sacks in his career at Miami (Fla.), posting a career high and ranking second on the team with six sacks in 2007. He attended Carol City High School in Miami, Fla., where he racked up 34 sacks in his final two seasons and earned SuperPrep All-America honors.

Moncur will again wear No. 61 and is slated to practice with the team this morning.

Two roster spots opened up Sunday when the Eagles released punter Ken Parrish and placed safety Antoine Harris on Injured Reserve. The Eagles worked out two safeties, Jamaal Fudge and Terrell Skinner, but no moves have been announced as of this post. The Eagles did activated guard Todd Herremans and center Jamaal Jackson from the Physically Unable to Perform list on Sunday, but they already counted against the 80-man roster. The Eagles have until August 31 to whittle the roster down to 75.
