from National Rifle Association
I fully support individuals' Second Amendment rights and oppose efforts to limit personal freedom.
Government overreaching and banning the possession of certain weapons – without regard for whether the owner uses the weapons legally – excuses criminals by blaming the gun.
I have opposed cosmetic intrusions by the federal government – such as the assault weapons ban and trigger locks – to preserve gun owner's rights. We cannot continue to infringe upon the rights of law-abiding citizens.
Any steps taken by government concerning Second Amendment rights must be taken with due deference to the U.S. Constitution.
