Writing for The Sunday Mail, she even says she wanted out.

“In fact I’d even asked for a redundancy eight months before and had been rejected,” she claims.

“Nine’s newsroom is a younger on-air mix these days. The style of 6pm news is more like the A Current Affair of five years ago. But, in between the live crosses and all the razzle …

Keeping up with Elmo

It’s not everyday you get to meet one of television’s superstars. And it’s not everyday you are racing to keep up with one so young.

But here’s what happened when I caught up with Elmo, during his recent Australian visit.

David: Hi Elmo, thanks for talking to me.

Elmo: Filming? (Taps microphone)

David: No, it’s just doing audio at the moment.

Elmo: Oh that’s no problem.

David: Now you’ve been to Australia many times?

Elmo: Yeah! Elmo’s mommy and daddy have been here too. We came here for eleven years. Every two years in eleven years.

David: And what …

Nightline has been axed by the Nine Network yet again.

“I’ve got more money for news and current affairs, but it’s a matter of how to spend it,” Nine News chief Mark Calvert has told The Australian.

“We’re re-opening the London bureau, which is expensive. I’ve put more people on A Current Affair and Today. We’ll be spending more on this federal election than we’ve ever spent before.

“Doing all …

Guessing game at Seven

There’s a lot going on over Seven way this week…

Between stories on Peter Meakin, Adam Boland and Rob Raschke it’s a guessing game as to what’s going down.

Media are having a bit of a feeding frenzy over it all.

The Daily Telegraph says ‘Race is On For Adam Boland’s job at Seven.’

It speculates Morning Show / Weekend Sunrise Executive Producer Michael Pell, 27, is a front runner for the job and backed by Boland. News boss Peter Meakin says he is “regarded very highly” within the network. At Pell’s age there are …

Channel Seven Director of Morning Television Adam Boland has told the network he does not intend to renew his contract when it expires in November.

The Sunrise executive producer is believed to be seeking a break from television, partly ue to his father’s recently-diagnosed terminal illness.

But Seven remains in discussion with him for post-contract possibilities.

Boland, 34, was responsible for the rise of Sunrise on Seven at a time when the network was unable to compete in morning television with the long running Today on Nine. He overhauled the network’s breakfast television …
