Professor works to improve speech recognition software
Research conducted by Binghamton University's Stephen Zahorian, a professor of electrical and computer engineering, aims to improve the accuracy of automated speech recognition technology such as is used in airline reservation systems. A grant of nearly half a million dollars from the Air Force Office of Scientific Research will help.
Binghamton University Neighborhood Project hosts workshop/symposium
The Binghamton University Neighborhood Project will host the “Empowering Neighborhoods and Restoring Outdoor Play” workshop and symposium at the University Downtown Center. The hands-on workshop will be held from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, with the symposium scheduled to take place from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 19. Both events are free and open to the public.
