Getting started: Fasthosts Broadband

Welcome to Fasthosts Broadband 'Getting Started' guide. This guide explains the contents of your welcome email and how to proceed to use the broadband services you have subscribed to.

Your welcome email included some important information, including your account type; and your username and password, to connect to the broadband service.

What happens next?

The broadband service you ordered will be one of the following:

• A new connection

New connections

• It will take between 10 and 15 working days before your broadband service is activated. During this time, BT will confirm that broadband is available on the line number you provided.

• You will receive another email confirming the activation date for your broadband service, three to five days before activation. This date is specified by BT, who reserve the right to change it.

• During this period, any hardware you ordered will be dispatched to you.

• On reciept of your hardware, you should install and configure your modem and/or router.

• A transfer (migration) from your current service provider

Migrations

• It will take between 15 and 20 working days before your broadband service is activated.

• You will receive another email confirming the activation date for your broadband service, three to five days before activation. This date is specified by BT, who reserve the right to change it.

• When you connect to Fasthosts Broadband for the first time, you will need to replace your former broadband service provider's login information with your new Fasthosts Broadband login details.

• There might be a short period during which you're unable to use either broadband service. This shouldn't be for more than about an hour. During this time, you should change your ADSL login details to those provided in your welcome email.
