  • This is inaccurate. George Soros and his Open Society Foundation has donated $5 million for relief efforts. This will be administered via the foundation in Pakistan to support Pakistani civil society relief efforts.

  • Saudi King donated 20 million Riyals making him the largest single donor, followed by the Crown Prince with 10 million Riyals, making him the second highest individual donor

  • It amazes me, the generosity of Americans. The nation, no wonder, is blessed with prosperity unparalleled in the world. The generous and helpful ones, others who aren’t so, pale into insignificance in comparison to the vast majority of such wonderful souls. God bless America.

  • Thanks Bill and Melinda Foundation for donating $700,000/- for the floods relief. I hope these examples would also be followed by some from the Royal Linage in the Middle East. It is a known fact that there are many individuals in these countries who can also contribute a lot. One must not forget that we also need lot of technical expertise to rebuild our infrastructure which has either been totally destroyed or damaged due to these floods. I hope this time all work will be done according to modern technology of 21st Century. Once again thanks to Bill & Melinda Foundation for their kind gesture and show of solidarity with the people of Pakistan.

  • 700k for bill gates is literally a few dollars to the common folk. He is given more to other causes, but its something.

  • Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Gates. Please don’t be disappointed at the professional beggars asking for more or those calling your contribution peanuts and all. Some people in our country have become thankless and have a victim mentality, which leads them to be rude and obnoxious. They are too busy Facebooking and sitting on their computers belittling those who are actually doing something about this crisis.

  • Thank you, Bill and Melinda; now its our responsibility to check that the aid is distributed to flood victims not in PPP’s Politicians.

  • It is amazing how we are constantly cribbing about the aid the world is giving us, like for example, why did Haiti receive more aid? or why the world was more generous towards Srilanka or many other disaster struck areas. Why can’t we just be thankful to the countries who are selflessly donating and people who are opening their wallets for helping our nation. It’s a shame that we are so ungrateful, everyone is trying to help us no one has an agenda and no one is enjoying this. If only we think with an open mind, everyone is just trying to help.
Thanks to all the foreigners, and to all their countries who have helped us so generously, as a citizen of this country i have nothing but the utmost respect for all the countries and people of the world who have come together to help us through this difficult time.

    God Bless You All.

  • Isn’t this the foundation where they are trying to get all the world’s top billionaires to give half their wealth? 700,000$ doesn’t seem so much in that respect, but its something. Maybe the FBR should come up with some scheme to help the flood victims by processing black money without penalty.

  • ThanK you Mr & Mrs Gates for you generosity. People of Pakistan are indebted to you for this help in our greatest hour of need. Our very best wishes to you.

  • Please somebody tell this government that Pakistani people alone can handle this catastrophe, you just develop some credibility. More aid has arrived from across the border then generated by the people of Pakistan.

  • Thanks, but we expect the ‘Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation’, the largest foundation in the world, to do much more! Mr. Gates, please find some time top personally visit these affected areas.

  • Surprised to see quotes as “Peanuts”. Our nation begs for aid and as if its not enough to shame us, we scorn the giving hands, disgusting

  • Asif Zardari and Benazir Bhutto Foundation donated 60 million dollars, Gilani donated half of his corrupt ministers, Qaim Ali Shah donated the real CM. The list goes on and on and on. Nawaz Sharif has already transferred his Mayfair apartment to relief fund.

This should have been natural series of news but alas!

  • Its me, Tazim Hejazi, who made this appeal to Mr. Bill Gates and other people around the globe. Actually I think I am doing my duty as a great national cause. The person who commited as peanuts, I feel sorry to read such silly commits. A cent or a single penny means a lot to me when I beg for my nation. Yes I am begger, but I beg for my people, not for my self. And listen man Iam not of those who just sit around compu and “ply” on facebpook. I will go out to every house, shop, institution and every where to collect fund for these suffered mothers, sisters, elders and kids of me, after month of Ramadhan, insha Allah!
I beg you all to pray for my nation, my beloved motherland, PLEASE PLEASE!!!!
