Pokemon Platinum Version - DS

Pros Cons
Addictive gameplay Annoying audio
Fantastic multiplayer
Just plain fun
Does Pokemon still got its charm?

Okay so i bought platinum earlier this year, i have been a previous fan of pokemon (since i was 8, now i'm 18) but i took a short break and decided to dive back in when Ive saw it at my local game store... And im so glad i did i have forgotten how fun pokemon can be although i never owned Diamond or pearl i like the step up of difficulty. The gameplay is so Addictive i got this game in September and its now January and I'm still playing it, i have to say it was awesome Multiplayer since i can trade, battle, and even talk to my friends over wifi that live in distant area very pleased with what they did with the game. One thing that bugged me though is that you can only trade with the pokemon in your party i hope sometime in the future they will have it set up so u can trade with people through your PC because running in and out of the room just to trade more pokemon can get tiresome. One thing that really bugged me is that some pokemon are near impossible too get even with all the games (the event ones) i wish the developers could have made it possible to catch them all since that is the goal for most pokemon trainers also nintendo need to do something about action replay like update the game software so people cant hack into it. The music just annoyed me (for the most part) i usually play it with the vol down. Also most of the new pokemon look like a drunk created them, there are plenty of classic pokemon to find. The feature to transfer your poemon from your GBA games to your DS is awesome but has its shortcomings, you can only do it once a day and u have to catch them at the pokepark (even though you can catch them flawlessly i don't see that point in catching something that is already yours why cant they just be transferred to the PC?) With all that being said i can proudly say that Pokemon Platinum is an Fun game, and advise anybody that if they havent already to pick it up. The cons are nothing but nitpicking at a perfect game. Long live pokemon and i cant wait to get my hands on SoulSilver

Pokemon SoulSilver - DS

Pros Cons
Addictive gameplay Poor storytelling
Just plain fun Doesn't live up to expectations
  Repetitive gameplay
Good game based off a classic

Pokemon soulsilver is desirving of a Seven out of ten
the newest instalment of pokemon is based off of the classic silver and gold versions from the gbc. Everybody pretty much gets the gist of pokemon; start off in small town- become a pokemon trainer with asperations to catch em all while becoming league champ- team (insert name here) tries to take over the pokemon world- foil there plans. Now dont get me wrong i love pokemon and dont mind the repetive story too much seeing that this is a remake but it becomes too boring after playing virtually every pokemon game. My only other beef is that it lacks in inovation. Nintendo is making a fortune re selling the same game in a different skin with little changes year after year.
Now its time to note the food things about this game. I enjoyed the world of johto very much. It has great graphics and the layout is just superior to any othe pokemon region. The new pokemon stadium is agreat addition. It allows you to use your pokemon to comete in suprisingly addictive minigames. Another food addition is the pokewalker. The little device that comes wth the game translates the steps you take into points to use to catch pokemon and items all the while leveling up your pokemon you decide to use. The gameplay remains the same were you stratigically use a pokemons various moves ro battle other pokemon. There is nothing to really improve on in the battle system providing fun fast rpg-like battles. But, by far the greatest treat in the game is thinking your queat is drawing to an end but getting to revisit the original kanto region.
Overall, this is a good game. For newcomers to the series i think its the best pokemon game out ther. But for weathered vets its just same-old same-old.

Hotel Dusk: Room 215 - DS

Pros Cons
Amazing visuals Repetitive gameplay
Engaging story
Innovative concepts
Just plain fun
One of the best games for DS

Right off, I'm just going tell you that if you don't own this game, you are missing out.
You play as Kyle Hyde, an ex-cop with a troubled past, where he is sent to Hotel Dusk by his employer, where he begins to uncover secrets of his past.
The story is amazing, and plays out just like a detective novel. The graphics aren't even graphics, and I'm saying that as a compliment. The graphics look like a flip book animation, and fit the game perfectly. The music is awesome too. The only problem with the game is that when you are walking, you are doing exactly that. Walking. There is practically no way to go any faster than a slow jog in the game, so that makes traveling a bit of a pain, and you do a lot of it. Also, you have no way to save the game in mid conversation, when you are talking with a character, and sometimes the game play gets a little repetitive. Although these problems certainly take away from the overall experience, they don't really hurt the game and don't stop from making the game a must buy.

Dementium: The Ward - DS

Pros Cons
Awesome audio Poor storytelling
Epic boss fights Not enough content
Intense action Repetitive gameplay
Dementium The Ward- DS

Alright. It could've been better if it let you save instead of starting at the beggining of each level when you die.

Pokemon SoulSilver - DS

Pros Cons

Loads of content
Addictive gameplay
Innovative concepts
Fantastic multiplayer
A Blast from the Past

Well being a pokemon fan i haft to say this is a must have game for any hardcore fan. The sounds and visuals are gorgeous and new concepts are a fun relief. They fixed a very annoying habit of not being able to "catch'em all" without relying on cheats or online play. It's very easy to become absorbed into the game. It's also easyer on newbies. One thing remains true, the pokemon company has done it again.

The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks - DS

Pros Cons
Amazing visuals Terrible multiplayer
Awesome audio
Engaging story
Epic boss fights
Intense action
Addictive gameplay
Tight controls
Just plain fun
Spirit Tracks is a brilliant addition to the series.

Spirit Tracks, set around 100 years after Phantom Hourglass, features better graphics, gameplay, and multiplayer. As childish as it sounds, whistle blowing on the train is a blast. The story mode is loads of fun. The train is awesome, the dungeons are epic, and the Spirit Flute may replace the Ocarina as my favorite Zelda instrument. My only complaint is the multiplayer could be MUCH better. Though the series isn't known for multiplayer experiences, this one's mode gets old after about 2 rounds. It features good maps, but they all feel the same. Ultimately, though, that is a relatively small quibble in an otherwise fantastic game.

Pokemon HeartGold - DS

Pros Cons
Loads of content Poor storytelling
Addictive gameplay
Just plain fun
Best Pokemon Game Ever? I Think So.

When I first heard that they were releasing Pokemon Heartgold, I knew I had to get it. Pokemon games are like drugs; once you start playing them, youre always wanting more: that was the case with me. So after I got bored playing Pokemon Platinum, I focused my attention to other games (MW2, Fallout 3, etc). But then this game came out, and I once again became an addict. I had started losing intrest in the game and wasnt really caring about it, but I had already reserved it, so I knew I had to get it (otherwise I just wasted money reserving it). Anyway, the game is fantastic. It has that Platinum feel, but it also has the feel of playing a new game. Of course, this game is not new. More than ten years ago Pokemon Gold and Silver were released. And now these games are theyre remixes. Anyway, yeah the game is fantastic. Its not better than Fallout 3, but its still a great game overall. What it does right it does exceedingly well. Of course, in a year, Nintendo is probably going to make a new game that combines both Heartgold and Soulsilver. Of course the highlight of these games is that Ho-Oh and Lugia (two Pokemon only distributed through events or hacked) are the stars of the show, replacing Dialga and Palkia as the mian legendary Pokemon of the game. If you have a DS, than buy this game. Just be warned;its addicting.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare - DS

Pros Cons
Awesome audio Ugly visuals
Intense action Not enough content
Addictive gameplay Braindead computer AI
Tight controls
Fantastic multiplayer
Just plain fun
DS Modern Warfare is almost, but not quite, a perfect shooter.

I knew it was only a matter of time before Call of Duty came to DS. The game features a generic storyline of Russian and Iraqi terrorists, as well as the inevitable launching of a nuke. Story issues aside, the game delivers fun challenges over 12 campaign missions. However, the campaign does have problems. The graphics disappoint, with overly polygonal models and a strange lack of textures. The allied AI also sucks. The game excels best in multiplayer, with a wide variety of local multiplayer weapons and modes. The game does, in the end, deliver fun action for on the go gamers.
