Finland has decided to grant 1. 2 million euros for humanitarian assistance to the flood victims in Pakistan, said a statement released by Finnish Foreign Ministry on Monday.

The aid is expected to be used for providing shelter, health care, water and sanitation facilities to the flood victims via international organizations including World Health Organization and the UN's refugee agency UNHCR.

Besides that, the UNICEF Finland also granted 100,000 euros to aid the flood victims in Pakistan early this month.

Heavy rains over the recent weeks have caused the worst floods in Pakistan since 1929. The UN estimates that the flood has killed at least 1,600 people, leaving about four million homeless and more than 15 million people in need of emergency assistance.
