John Derian is the latest designer (along with Mulberry and Tucker) to create lower-priced collaborations for Target. And they’re on sale this instant on Gilt Groupe. Like the Liberty of London line that launched earlier this year, the John Derian pieces are crisp and cute. And really, melamine is infinitely more practical than glass anyway.
I snagged the waterlily, dragonfly, and feather trays (perfect for Cape Cod), along with two butterfly bins (I’m thinking intimates). There was still stock left at 12:30, but you’d best hurry. If you need an invite, email me – stylecarrot [at] gmail [dot] com.
If you’re too late, the stuff debuts in Target stores on September 5th. If you really want to buy something decor-y on Gilt, there’s a Jonathan Adler sale still in progress.

164 Newbury Street, Boston
Boston interior designer, stylist, and blogger Erin Gates of Elements of Style is hosting a shopping party next week at Cynthia Rowley on Newbury Street. Unfortunately I’ll be out of town (well, not so unfortunate, I’ll be in NYC) but if you’re interested in attending, let Erin know. You’ll get 20 percent off your purchases that evening. There are some great fall looks.
I’m especially loving the prints and fringe.

I had dinner at The Juice in Wellfleet on Cape Cod the other night. I never noticed the carrot image stained glass window on the door that faces the road. Sorta corny, but felt like I had to post it.

Another summer. Another hot and sweaty trip to the Wellfleet Flea Market. I left empty handed, but the boys picked up Star Wars trading cords, orange rope, and a too loud and grating space age shooter. I was hungry (and maybe a tad cranky), but managed to get a few photographs.
For more photos see last summer’s shopping trip.
