Jerry Jam – Fire on the Mountain
[We opted not to take the tour to Jerry Jam when we learned that all their vendor spots were taken. One goal of this tour is to make it self-supporting and we wanted to operate a food and lemonade stand for our enterprise. We started the tour without enough lead time, so we're doing some catch-up. It still sounds like a great event that we should attend next year.]

About Jerry Jam
The Birth of Jerry Jam
Positive, Higher Level Consciousness
Jerry Jam began on the first anniversary of Jerry’s passing in August of 1996. A small group of friends gathered together to celebrate the life of Jerry Garcia, along with the music and vibe associated with the Grateful Dead.
Since that first gathering of about thirty friends, Jerry Jam has grown to an annual attendance of over 400 kind souls and several bands playing throughout the weekend.
Jerry Jam has survived all these years because of a small group of committed, compassionate friends. After holding The Jam for five consecutive years at The Barn – a small venue with limited parking and close neighbors – it was decided that maybe The Jam had run it’s course.
Then the magic of community rose up.
Generous friends with larger and more secluded properties offered their space to keep the ‘vibe’ alive. Thanks to this community, Jerry Jam is now entering it’s thirteenth year, and with even more bands, it looks to be the best Jam yet!

Why we go to Jerry Jam:
First, a good vibe.
Second, to influence good people to come to a position of consistent freedom.
3rd, to be a example of enterprising folk and earn money for the tour.
Volunteer opportunities:
The Jerry Jam organizers are currently looking for cheerful volunteers to help make this an enjoyable event. They have a wide variety of volunteer positions available and are currently looking for volunteers in the following categories:
- Security
- First Aid
- Clean Up
- Parking
- Recycling
- Promotions
Volunteers at the 2010 Jerry Jam will receive a reduced gate fee for the weekend. The security team will meet at least twice pre-event and have a rotating schedule of gate duties, allowing everyone a grand time with the jams.
Volunteer info on the site: http://www.jerryjam.com/volunteers.html
♫ Send in your volunteer form early. The earlier we receive your form, the faster we can set schedules. We will try to accommodate your wishes to see particular bands.
♫ We ask for a time commitment. In order to qualify for half price tickets, the minimum trade is 6 hours of volunteer time. Depending upon the duties assigned, volunteers will be asked to attend at least one pre-jam meeting (security will have two).
♫ We ask for a refundable deposit. Volunteers are asked to provide a $30 deposit to organizers at the start of the festival. This is to ensure everyone’s commitment to their volunteer responsibilities. Deposits will be fully refundable at the end of the festival to all volunteers who have honored their schedules.
Enterprises we could operate there:
Food and beverages are always a welcomed enterprise at events, but we’re presently checking on food service licensing requirements. [state licensing requirements are non-existent for fairs and other temporary events, but we got in too late to get a spot at Jerry Jam.]
Book, literature, T-shirt sales are a potential money-maker, but probably not very lucrative.
