Sofia Coppola's Somewhere, an insider's look at the life of a Hollywood actor who becomes numb to life through drink, drugs and a string of one-night stands, has won the top prize at the Venice Film Festival.
New Wave filmmaker Chabrol dies
Prolific French filmmaker Claude Chabrol, who helped start the New Wave movement in the 1950s and went on to create some of the darkest portrayals on the silver screen, died on Sunday aged 80.
