With the November release of Call of Duty: Black Ops close at hand, developer Treyarch is in the unenviable (and oh-so-familiar) position of following up a hugely successful Infinity Ward-developed Call of Duty game with one of their own. However, now that Infinity Ward has been all but dismantled by the powers-that-be at Activision, the team behind Call of Duty: Black Ops has more flexibility to experiment with the multiplayer formula.
