Adam made his name as schoolboy Donte Charles in Waterloo Road, between 2006 and 2009. He then followed his older brother Ryan Thomas (Corrie’s Jason Grimshaw) into soapland, joining Emmerdale as Adam, the teenage son of village newcomers John and Moira Barton. Adam grabbed attention with the storyline which saw his character kiss best pal Aaron, and the young actor’s proved a firm favourite with soap fans who voted him their Best Newcomer.
