Vinylmania has swept Flipside, a bar that opened this year. Glowing  translucent reproductions of classic album covers by the likes of James  Brown and Frank Zappa adorn the walls, and the cocktail menu has  concoctions with names like 45RPM. The real star is the soundtrack,  fueled by some 10,000 vinyl L.P.’s that D.J.’s spin on a pair of  turntables. The vibe ranges from funky and soulful to indie and  international— a bit like Mar Mikhael itself these days.
