The Pupfish plan to play home games at Alamogordo High School's Tiger Field and/or Griggs Field. Keith Essary will coach the Pupfish. The Pupfish will play in the New Mexico Divison of Pecos League of Professional Baseball Clubs.
What is a Pupfish?
A white Sands Pupfish is considered a Species of Concern by U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), and is listed as a Threatened Species by the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish (NMDGF); and the White Sands Pupfish only live in the Tularosa Basin, New Mexico on public lands adminsistered by the US Army.
Whites Sands has a great base for sports fans and is the absolute center point of the Pecos League based on mileage. The fans in Alamo have been seeking a team that represents their own identity.
