If you’ve been by the DC booth at all during the show, you probably noticed that a few creators and DC staffers were sporting some pretty neat footgear — custom Converse shoes featuring either the Green Lantern, Superman or Batman.

Part of a promotional effort with our friends at Converse, the shoes merge two of my favorite things — a pair of snazzy Chuck Taylor’s and comics. Don’t take my word for it, though. Our very own James Robinson was among the creators showing off his new kicks at a signing hosted by Converse at the Horton Plaza Journeys store in San Diego yesterday. Want your own? It’s Sunday at Comic-Con and we’re in the final lap of what’s been an epic, fun and unforgettable show. So slide into a chair and get comfy, as DC Comics Co-Publishers Dan DiDio and Jim Lee get the ball rolling on what promises to be a relaxing Sunday conversation. Got a burning question? Couldn’t have said it better myself. Aww yeah!

It’s early afternoon in lovely San Diego and we’re almost at the halfway point of the show, but don’t let that fool you into thinking we’re done making news. In fact, we’ve got two images to get your mind whirring as you head into Room 6A for the DC.

That’s definitely Jimmy Olsen. But who’s that with him? Looks a lot like Chloe Sullivan, doesn’t it? It is, and it’ll be Chloe’s first appearance in the DC Universe proper, as part of the upcoming JIMMY OLSEN co-feature.

Garbage Man? Looks like Aaron Lopresti art. Could this have something to do with the WEIRD WORLDS title we’ve heard mentioned recently? You’re getting warmer.

Let’s check in with Senior Story Editor Ian Sattler to shed some more light on these two items and see what else attendees can expect to hear about on the panel. Take it away, Ian:

“DC Universe: Event Horizon is your ticket to all things DCU. We’ve got a great list of creators joining us and more than a few surprises up our sleeves that you won’t find at any other panel. Seriously – I ‘m worried we’re gonna break the projector with all the slides we have ready for this one. And who knows, the right question at this panel could land you a spot in a future DC Nation. See you there!”

The acclaimed writer of SUPERMAN and WONDER WOMAN sits down with fans for a candid discussion about his upcoming work and his career in comics, movies and television.

But the fun doesn’t stop there. How about an awesome piece of never-before-seen art? We’ve got a first look at a key page from this month’s WONDER WOMAN #601, by artist Don Kramer.

After the BLACKEST NIGHT comes the BRIGHTEST DAY for not only the GREEN LANTERN corner of things, but the entire DCU. You won’t want to miss this all-encompassing GL panel, featuring Geoff Johns, Tony Bedard, Joe Prado and Ivan Reis, led by Group Editor Eddie Berganza. What can fans sitting in Room 6A expect, GLC writer Tony Bedard?

“I’m looking forward to having the Green Lantern team all together — I don’t get to see Geoff Johns and Pete Tomasi in person nearly enough. I also want to tell folks a little more about the new villain debuting in my first story arc with GREEN LANTERN CORPS’ upcoming new artist, Tyler Kirkham. This bad guy is getting a lot of buzz in the GL office and he’s one way in which I want to expand on the Green Lantern universe (along with the Rookie Lanterns I introduced in R.E.B.E.L.S.).”

The 2010 Eisner Award winners were announced last night, to honor some of the best and brightest talents in comics, and DC came away with a number of honors. Highlights include two nods for DETECTIVE COMICS artist J.H. Williams III and the ABSOLUTE JUSTICE collection.
