Advantages of the line

This line, with a length of 914 kilometres, runs through four Autonomous Communities: Madrid, Castilla La Mancha, Valencian Community and Region of Murcia.

The new line will enable all Castilla La Mancha provincial capitals to have access to high speed trains, in addition to bringing Murcia closer to the Spanish capital

All the cities on its route will have considerably reduced train trip times. It will also involve the creation of functional and modern stations, adapted to the 21st century, in Cuenca, Requena - Utiel, Albacete, Valencia, Alicante, Elche and Murcia.

Adif has been commissioned the execution of all works on this line. The implementation of this service to Valencia and Albacete, planned for 2010, shall contribute to Spain being the country in the world with most kilometres of high speed lines
