Strategic Infrastructure and Transport Plan 2005-2020 (PEIT)
The transport and infrastructure policy of the Ministry of Public Works is set in the Strategic Infrastructure and Transport Plan 2005-2020 (PEIT). The PEIT includes general criteria to frame any decision that needs to be made in the field of transport.
Railway is one of the Plan’s clearest strategic options, and includes the following as basic action centrepieces: the development of an ambitious High-Performance Network that covers the entire territory in a balanced way, maximisation of freight railway transport, with special backing into mixed traffic, and the development of suburban train lines.
This section includes some of the plans or projects developed in the framework of the PEIT.
