The Huffington Post   |  Craig Kanalley First Posted: 09-22-10 10:22 AM   |   Updated: 09-22-10 01:57 PM

Today, Sept. 22, 2010, is the first day of fall for North America and that means the autumn equinox is fast approaching.

The autumnal equinox, signifying the sun being in line with the equator, officially takes place at 11:09 p.m. Eastern Time tonight (3:09 a.m. UTC on Sept. 23, 2010). That means the first day of fall is officially celebrated on Sept. 23 this year in Europe and Asia.

Take a look at some of these fall photos we've collected from around the world. Vote on your favorites and share your own fall photos! Also, let us know your thoughts on fall and what you think of this time of year in the comments.

Our fall colors are just starting and they are spectacular. We had the best summer in years. If you like Ontario wine they also are having their best crop this year. I love the fall colors but I just don't like what is coming after them.

You're in Alaska. If you want warm, buy a plane ticket.

But NOAA has told you that this is the hottest summer on record for the past 131 years.

Has been having a little trouble getting any traction on anthropogenic Climate Change.

Even the the hurricanes wont 'play ball'. Do not go where they can make front page news, or fizzle when approaching any landfall.

Once again I have to point out to HuffPost that Autumn in the Appalachians/Blue Ridge Parkway is the most beautiful place on Earth. Don't make me go outside and take pictures to prove it.

Some of us live in parts of the country where we do not have 'colors'.

Just boring dead leaves.

I didn't know there was a place called Srinagar. Cool. I also didn't know you could walk on a fence and discover that adolescence is a time of transition at the same time.
