DarkWolf's Doom Page

Maps

Dark Method (Doom II DM):
I started playing around in the editor one day and came up with the slime-fall area. I decided from that point to make it a level. It had a few different styles and many rooms; this is one level I put more effort into. I, myself, am happy with it as a whole. There are a couple of rooms I would change, however the outside areas make up for those particular sections.

Hidden Canyon (Doom II DM):
An attempt to create a courtyard type level. It actually started out as merely a resource for testing modifications, as it was an open area that had every entity in the game. This way I could look at new monsters, objects etc. However I decided to make it a full-fledged level and here it is. I look back now and I see I should have probably changed a few things.

Justified Homicide (Doom II DM):
I ran into a Doom player named Gibberwitz a few years back. He was putting together a DM pack for Doom II with another person (Pusher). I joined the team and we made the Justified Homicide DM pack. It was my first project, nothing grand, but I'm glad I was a part of the creation.

Legacy Tag (Doom II DM, Requires Doom Legacy):
This is a modified version of deathmatch where you have to tag your opponents when you're "it" and avoid being tagged when you're not. If you're "it" you have 30 seconds to tag another player or you die. You also lose a frag every time you're tagged. Requires the latest version of 1.41, it won't work in 1.40. I actually added scripting functions to Legacy's CVS to make this map possible.

Phoebus Strikes! (Doom II Movie, Requires Doom Legacy):
It's another movie by DarkWolf! My second creation features the "beloved" forum moderator of New Doom. This movie is fully scripted and doesn't rely on any demo lumps. You'll need the latest version of Legacy to view it.

Star Portal Crisis Demo (Doom I Movie, Requires Doom Legacy):
One day I was bored with working on the project and decided I should try to make a little demo using Fraggle Script's camera functions. Well when I made the level I couldn't figure out how to use the cameras. But now that I do I've made this little gem. It's basically a demo with a script that has timed functions. The timing was tough to get right, but in the end I'm pretty happy with the result.

Shells & Bullets (Doom II DM, Requires Doom Legacy):
It's a conversion of Shells & Nails 2, one of my Quake maps. I did this to get a feel of converting a Quake map to a Doom map. It worked pretty well, and I also threw in some corona stuff for you people using hardware rendering.

Suck A Sage (Doom II DM, Requires Doom Legacy):
This is my first original Doom Legacy map. There's not much to say about it. It uses some 3d floors, but these are very basic uses. I still think it's pretty fun though. There is a corona trick in there, and a modified Doom texture.

The Duel (Doom II Single, Requires Doom Legacy):
I started out to remake the duel mode from Golden Axe in Doom. However, it turned out a bit different. It's more like Serious Sam. However, you get different points for killing enemies and saving ammo. You're health also effects your score if you survive.

In the Vicinity of Death (Doom II DM, Optional Dehacked):
This map was a wad I released for my "Don't Bleed" Dehacked Patch. It has difficulty settings to implement weapon layout.

Wheat Thin Fortress (Doom II DM):
This map I've tested with Legacy, JDoom and ZDoom without any problems. It's a fairly small map, so it should make a good 1 on 1 or a fast paced 3-4 player map. There are only 4 DM starts, so I wouldn't try overloading it with players. By the way, all the good map names were taken, that's why it has the name it does.
