Oh, wow, just 10 favorite Beatles songs. That's a tough one.

To mark the release of The Beatles Rock Band video game and the remastered Beatles catalog today, AOL Radio has put out a list of the 10 all-time highest rated Beatles tunes by AOL Radio listeners.

That list:

10. "Let It Be."

9. "All My Loving"

8. "Strawberry Fields Forever."

7. "We Can Work It Out."

6. "In My Life."

5. "Get Back."

4. "Come Together."

3. "Yesterday."

2. "Here Comes the Sun."

1. "A Day in the Life."

Not too bad, AOL listeners. I guess you guys never heard The White Album? I think at least "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" deserves a spot somewhere on the list.

Anyone else have a Top 10 suggestion — or a list of your own?

Whitney Houston’s I Look to You debuts at No. 1

Guess you could see this one coming. The re-emerging diva's I Look to You topped the charts in its first week. And the momentum will get another boost when the singer stops by the Oprah Winfrey Show for a two-day stint on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 14 and 15. The Labor Day weekend is a good time to start something new on the radio, isn't it? Listeners have some leisure time to check it out, don't they?

Well, strategic or not, Joe Walsh (the most entertaining Eagle, or certainly the least tiresome) is rolling out "Eagles Radio" on Friday on the band's own Artists Personal Experience online station.  Initial interview segments will feature Ringo Starr, AC/DC's Brian Johnson and Mike Rutherford of Genesis.

You can read more about it below:

Back of the notebook: Observations out of Britney Spears’ concert at Amway

In tribute to High Fidelity's list-making character Rob Gordon, a guy who likely would disown me as a friend for my rave Britney review, here's a Top 5 list of observations out of Tuesday's show:

5. So both ends of the upper bowl were covered with those black curtains. Doesn't anyone sell out the old arena anymore?

4. There are not as many fans dressed like Britney nowadays, a trend that happily seems to have run its course.

3. I can't believe the is-she-singing debate is still going on. Of course she isn't! There was really only one showcase for her voice anyway, the ballad "Everytime." Some folks in my section used that opportunity to make a beer run.

2. A 6-minute set for opening act Kristinia DeBarge? Why bother?

1. Another opening act with a don't-blink-or-you-miss-it slot: One Call, an Orlando boy-band (Johnny Wright's latest) that shows the assembly line is still operating. Can you believe it?

Buff Britney Spears delivers at Amway Arena “Circus”

It’s a good thing that the rains stopped because otherwise I would surely be struck by lightning for this:

I really liked a Britney Spears concert.

Elevated by the presence of the newly buff Britney, Tuesday’s "Circus" spectacle at Amway Arena was the best performance by the pop star I’ve ever seen. Structurally, of course, it was virtually a carbon copy of her Tampa show in March, down to the same ad libs and transitions.

This time, however, the svelte singer looked to be having a better time. It was easier to tell because there was a lot more Britney on the big video screens above the three rings below. In Tampa, there was nary a close-up all night long, lest anyone get a look at the pudgy Britney.

The video element was important because it gave the audience, especially in the upper bowl, a chance to see the singer’s facial expressions: an array of smiles, winks and nods that made things more personal. With Britney, of course, "Freakshow" isn’t just a song title, it’s a state of mind.

Under the "big top," the circus mood was heightened by the inspired addition of the Big Apple Circus. That troupe of funky gymnasts was astounding in a 20-minute opening set that featured amazing leaps on balance beam, hip-swiveling hula-hoop fun and a trampoline act by a legless woman.

It was nice to see the circus theme used as more than an excuse to demonstrate sexual positions.

Not that there wasn’t plenty of that.

"I make it hot," Spears proclaimed as she descended from the rafters to do the "Circus" opener. Accompanied by dozens of dancers, acrobats, magicians and jugglers, it was a visual feast.

The stage, which took up most of the arena floor was an attraction on its own. With an assortment of trap doors, descending curtains and other gadgets, it was a Swiss Army Knife of possibilities.

All of those diversions, along with a sound mix that was surprisingly hospitable, allowed the show to overshadow the music.

Not a bad idea.

Dance-friendly songs such as "Radar" and "Hot As Ice" are still utterly dopey. It also was exceedingly unlikely that the ringmaster was actually singing.

And despite her new physique, Britney hasn’t improved much as a dancer. Her moves in sexually charged songs such as "Boys" and "Do Somethin’. " still look more like the midnight moves of a drunken sorority sister than choreography.

Again, it was the diversions to the rescue. There was Britney being sawed in half or riding around in a circus cage on wheels for the anti-paparazzi anthem "Piece of Me." And what was the deal with the bicycles on "Boys"? Britney’s was equipped with a stripper pole, which can’t be standard issue.

There was but the briefest nod to her bubble-gum roots, with a remixed run through  ".. .. . Baby. One More Time" near the finale. For that one, she wore horn-rimmed specs and clung to what looked like a chain-link fence. What was that? Librarians in prison?

Whatever.

Undoubtedly, I’ll endure abuse from my rocker friends for loving this show, but as guilty pleasures go, it’ll be worth it.

Besides, it’s good to see Britney back. It’d be sad to see her spiral downward in the tradition of Michael Jackson, Elvis and Marilyn.

If Tuesday is any indication, her second act is already under way. In the big top, the show must go on.

Top 10 Metallica songs, according to AOL Radio

"Enter Sandman" only ranks No. 8? What's up with that? And how about some love, any love, for the fine Rick Rubin-produced Death Magnetic, on which Kirk Hammett's guitar solos return to favor?

Otherwise, I don't have too many quibbles with this list of favorite Metallica songs, as voted on by listeners to AOl Radio. How about the rest of you?

Five bills for Britney Spears tickets? Are you kidding?
Discuss This: Comments Off | Add to del.icio.us | Digg it

$496!!!!

Sorry, but I had to put that in big type. That's the high-end ticket price for the Britney Spears "Circus" tour when it comes to Orlando's Amway Arena on Sept. 1. Are you freakin' crazy? Aren't we in a recession? Hasn't everyone seen this show by now that wants to see it?

On the flip side, there are bargain seats available for $39.50. I think that's the seat that I enjoyed next to the roof of the St. Pete Times Forum when I saw the show. From that vantage point, you can look down and wonder "Are they having sex down there??? Or is it just acrobatics?"

Anyway, the tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, June 19, at Ticketmaster outlets. All the details are added below…

Mandy Moore-Ryan Adams wed

It was a quiet, under-the-radar ceremony on Tuesday in Savannah, Ga., sources report to Us magazine.

The Orlando actress-singer is 24 and her scruffy rocker hubbie is 10 years her senior. Moore told Marie Claire in April that Adams is "a good egg. I'm in awe of him: his brain, his passion. He's truly one of a kind."

In Us, she talked about passing on the big-wedding thing:

"I kind of feel like, because I've been able to get married in a few films, I kind of got the whole giant wedding fuss out of my system," Moore said.

Wardrobe malfunction? Britney Spears’ open mic in Tampa

PX00171_9[1]

So there was a comment on this blog yesterday about Britney Spears saying something embarrassing over an open mic after one of the songs at Sunday's concert at St. Pete Times Forum.

Well, the video has surfaced (as it always does). What did she say? It's hard to tell, but it sounds like something that she might not have wanted EVERYONE to hear.

You can check it out here, but be forewarned: If you don't like bad language, you might want to visit one of the other fine posts on this blog.
