Albany is a city situated in Linn and Benton Counties in the state of Oregon in U.S.A. The city covers a total area of 16.1 sq miles and has an elevation of 210 feet. The city lies at the junction of the Willamette and Calapooia Rivers.

As per the 2008 census the city has a population of 48,770 inhabitants and is the 12th largest city in the state of Oregon.

The city is called as the ‘grass seed capital of the world’ as it produces beans, mint, corn, hazelnuts and strawberries. It is also named as the ‘rare metals capital of the world’ as several rare metals such as titanium; hafnium and zirconium are produced here.

The city receives 5 inches of snowfall and 43 inches of rainfall on an average. There are 157 sunny days and July is the warmest month while January is the coldest.
