CBS won the night with adults 18-49 and viewers as CSI: NY led the night with a 1.9 adults 18-49 rating to go along with its 9.87 million viewers. Blue Bloods was down, but not out with a 1.8 adults 18-49 rating and just over 11 million viewers.
Fueled by Dateline, NBC was second on the night with adults 18-49 despite another 1.0 (same as last week) with adults 18-49 for Outlaw.
CW was third, ahead of ABC and Fox with Smallville and Supernatural each pulling a 1.0 rating with adults 18-49. Smallville had 2.374 million viewers and Supernatural had 2.284 million. Supernatural was behind Fox’s Good Guys’ 2.37 million, but Supernatural won where it mattered (with adults 18-49) as Fox’s Good Guys’ could muster only a 0.8 rating. Definitions:
Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.
Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.
Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)
Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs which are currently in approximately 24.4% of all U.S. TV households. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

GO SMALLVILLE! ALWAYS STRONG.
Good bounce for CSI NY, too bad Blue Bloods drop below 2.0
Bluebloods was the best one so far..
don’t understand why people are so excited about smallville’s ratings, you do realise that the show ends this year whatever the ratings are, right?
Yay CSI: NY!!! I think CBS is happy with its 1.9, growing from its 1.2 lead-in.
1.2 for Medium? that’s a schame. Has the show lost its serial elements once it went to CBS? I remember when it was on NBC it had at least storylines running through more then one episode. Have yet to see any episodes from seasons 6 and 7. I can’t complain, 7 seasons is a very respectable run, getting more respectable as the season pass and the networks loose their willingness to nurse new shows.
The CW preempted Smallville and Supernatural in the Chicago area for sports. The episodes will both air Saturday night at 7pm central and 8 pm central respectively.
Why is it a big deal for Smallville to end strong? Because it is an awesome show, and us fans would love for it to end strongly.
Als looks like The Good Guys will soon become The Gone Guys.
frankly I think the only thing important for smallville fans is that THEY think the show ends on a good note, if it gets terrible ratings at the end it won’t matter cos at least they will have enjoyed it, ratings only matter in regards to renewal and cancellation, which is irrevalant in smallville’s case.
Im happy Medium went up, but only went up by 0.1 rating.
I love Medium but I think CBS should make this the final season, but let the show complete 22 episodes. Because I don’t like how low the ratings are. For a show that started out being in the top 20 (in 19th place) in the ratings in series 1 was great but look now season 6 was at was at 56th.
I think the writers should write storylines like thoses in season 1 and 2.
It’s great for Smallville and Supernatural to be doing well; it sends a clear message that to Dawn Ostroff that if you add more shows to the schedule during the week that attract appreciable numbers of male viewers you will thrive.
It also shows that FOX and ABC need to put some original programming on. CBS and NBC are doing well.
“don’t understand why people are so excited about smallville’s ratings, you do realise that the show ends this year whatever the ratings are, right?”
A sad need to feel validated for liking it.
glad sv and spn did roughly the same from last week with little increases. Was hoping for a bit better, but since it had preempts in chicago it still did well enough for cw.
Medium’s A18-49 ratings are a joke, if the show doesn’t even maintain this (and the season’s just begun), the CW’s Smallville will beat it before Christmas.
Pretty good ratings for CSI: NY and Blue Bloods. Sure the demo is below a 2.0, but hey, a win is a win.
I never watch the CW, but how the hell is it possible that it’s preempted somewhere every single Friday?!
Too bad for Blue Bloods’ drop but I guess it’s still in the green. If the next episode can climb back up to 2.0 that would be great. NY is steady for now and so is Medium (which, in Medium’s case, is not a good thing).
TGG rising confirms our theory that it will stay on the air until the sweeps.
well..i am a smallville fan, and obviously so is Joker, so having the show end strong after a ten year run does matter. Why u want to insist otherwise on what is important to Smallville fans, or what you think should be for some reason, is beyond me.
Just below a 2.0… that’s what Ghost Whisperer and Medium were doing last season, will CSI: NY and Blue Bloods follow the path taken by the Jennifer Love Hewitt drama next spring ?
fine have it your way, I just think the writing quality is more important than the ratings for a show in it’s final season.
