National Fire Prevention Week runs through Sunday, and the Chugiak Volunteer Fire Department wants to make sure residents know the importance of working smoke alarms. Many homes in Chugiak-Eagle River may not have any smoke alarms, not enough smoke alarms, alarms that are too old, or alarms that are not working.
