Recap: The X Factor Judges' Houses (Part 2) Sunday 3rd October 2010 Tonight's instalment of The X Factor revealed the final 12 contestants to make it through to the live shows. With Dannii, Louis, Simon and Cheryl having to break the news both good and bad each category was reduced from 8 acts to just 3. After many tears, tantrums and celebrations the final 12 are: Dannii and the boys - Matt Cardle, Aiden Grimshaw and Nicolo Festa

Believed to have the strongest category, Cheryl had the unenviable task of whittling 8 girls down to 3. With close friend and collaborator Will.i.am at her side, Cheryl put the girls through their paces. Check out our gallery below to see all the girls in action:
Gallery: Simon and The Groups Sunday 3rd October 2010 Simon Cowell discovered that he didn't have the worst category when he watched the final 8 groups perform in last night's X Factor.
