Côte d'Ivoire
Financial Sector Overview
Income Group: Low Income
Cote d’Ivoire’s financial sector is less developed than the regional average and significantly smaller than that of other countries in the low-income group. Based on a cross-country comparison, bank cost-income ratios and overhead costs show that the efficiency of the banking system is below the regional and income-group averages. While bank credit to deposit ratios are generally high, credit to the private sector levels are lower than the continental average, although broadly in line with the income group average.
