Craig Dowsett

Craig was a highly skilled, quick thinking mid-fielder who often mesmerized opponents with his lightning handball and pinpoint foot passing.
  • 1977-81 Recruited by the Geelong Football Club (VFL). Played 8 senior games.
  • 1978 Geelong Football Club U/19 Best Graduate and R/U Best & Fairest
  • 1981-83 Woodville Football Club (SANFL) 40 games
  • 1984-89 Country coaching at Warrnambool, Yarrawonga, Golden Square, Whitehills
  • 1986 Bendigo League Best & Fairest (Golden Square)
  • 1990-92 Returned to Leopold. Premiers 1990, Runners Up 1991

Ben Graham

Ben was a tall athletic key position player with a raking left foot. His strong marking, agility and team orientation enabled him to build a fine AFL career and assume an honored place in  the Geelong Football Club history.

  • 1999 Senior Best & Fairest and Best Clubman. Represented Australia in International Rules series against Ireland

  • 2001 Inducted into the Geelong Football Club Hall of Fame

After playing 219 games over 13 season Ben retired from AFL football at the end of the 2004 season to continue a professional sporting career in the National Football League (American Gridiron). He enjoyed an excellent rookie season with the New York Jets in 2005, where his kicking power and skill put him in the top echelon of NFL punters.

In late 2006 Ben made history becoming the first Australian to captain an American pro-sports team and also became the only player to captain a team in two professional sports leagues.



Tony Brown

Tony was a brilliant junior sportsman who chose football over a promising cricket career. He is a talented on-baller with a great goal sense.

In 2006 Tony had a stellar season with Leopold, claiming the Mathieson medal and named player of the carnival at the country football championships in Queensland.

  • 2001 Won SANFL Best & Fairest - Magarey Medal

  • 2005 Named captain of SANFL Team of the Year
  • 2006 Welcome return to Leopold Football Club

David Loats

David was a tall, agile ruck/key position player who excelled in a variety of sports as a junior, but was plagued with injuries in his senior football career.
  • 1998 Drafted to Hawhorn Football Club (AFL)
  • 1998-03 Played 11 senior games
  • 2004  Transferred to Geelong Football Club (AFL) Played 1 senior game, retiring from AFL football with recurring knee injury

Tim Boyle

Tim is a rangy, tall key position player who suffered a season ending leg injury in 2004 during a senior pre-season game. A hamstring injury curtailed his 2005 season.
  • 2000 Played in GFL U/18 Grand Final
  • 2001 Played at the Geelong Falcons
  • 2002 Drafted to Hawthorn Football Club (AFL)
  • 2005 Won the club's Encouragement Award. Played 3 games

Clinton Bartram

Clinton, as a talented junior footballer and athlete, has the attributes that suit the modern game. His aggressive running and aerobic capacity has seen him move directly from TAC Cup U/18 football to senior AFL football.
  • 2005 Played at the Geelong Falcons after a junior career which began at Leopold
  • 2006 Drafted to Melbourne Football Club (AFL). Started the season in Melbourne's senior team.
