Canada's Wonderland

Ride Guidelines
Height Restrictions

Download our Height Requirements for Rides.

For safety reasons, all of Canada's Wonderland's rides have been evaluated for needed requirements according to guest height. Canada's Wonderland has clearly posted the height requirements at the entrance of each ride. Ride height requirement information is also available on Park maps.

Children may be "officially" measured and receive a wristband if they meet height requirements at the Height Check Stations on International Street or at any ride of the appropriate height level. For the safety of your child, a standard play shoe which does not contribute excessively to the child's height will be permitted. Platform shoes that increase the child's height are not permitted. Canada's Wonderland reserves the right to ask that shoes be removed to ensure that a child's height is not being artificially enhanced or manipulated.

Some rides require a "responsible person" to accommodate a rider*. A responsible person is someone who meets all the requirements to ride the ride themselves, is 16 years of age or older and demonstrates appropriate observed bevhavior**.

*Limit one child per responsible person on the Fly, Ghoster Coaster, Spinovator, Thunder Run and Taxi Jam.

**Appropriate Observed Behaviour: Guest demonstrates appropriate observed behaviour indicating a willingness and ability to participate and/or follow rider requirements.

Splash Works Information:

  • Guests under 48" tall must wear a lifejacket while swimming in the White Water Bay and Lazy River
  • Guests under 48" tall are not required to wear a lifejacket in the Splash Island Pool Area
  • Guests under 42" tall on the Lazy River must be accompanied by a responsible person

Other Rider Restrictions

Safety is number one at Canada's Wonderland. All passenger restraint systems, including lap bars, shoulder harnesses and seatbelts, must be positioned, fastened and tightened to allow guests to ride. We are required by the Province of Ontario to enforce all manufacturer requirements.

Due to rider restraint system requirements
, guests of exceptional size may not be accommodated on some of our rides. This may apply, but not be limited to, guests who exceed 6’2", or those who exceed 225 pounds, have a 40" waistline or 52" chest . Each person has different body proportions so it is not possible to list exact size and weight.

Our larger guests may experience difficulty
on The Bat, Riptide, Dragon Fire, Drop Tower, The Fly, Ghoster Coaster, Behemoth, The Mighty Canadian Minebuster, Psyclone, Shockwave, Skyrider, Sledge Hammer, Swing of the Century, Thunder Run, Time Warp, Flight Deck, Vortex and Wild Beast.

You may enter the ride via the exit to ensure the restraints function properly prior to waiting in line. Please approach a ride attendant via the exit and ask them to allow you to test the seat for proper fit. You will be asked to wait your turn in line via the entrance should you choose to ride.

Maximum recommended weight limits are posted on many rides including Blast Off!, Chopper Chase, Drop Tower, Back Lot Stunt Coaster, Jumpin' Jet, Swing of the Century, The Pumpkin Patch, Xtreme Skyflyer and most SplashWorks attractions.

Hand-held infants are restricted from most rides. They may be taken on Action Theatre (non-motion platform), Antique Carrousel (chariot) and Character Carrousel.

Pregnant women may ride:
Antique Carrousel, Character Carrousel, Jokey's Jalopies, KidZville Station, Boo Blasters on Boo Hill and Swan Lake.

Guests with casts and braces
will be restricted from riding rides where the cast or brace will not fit inside the ride unit of where it will present a hazard to the guests or others. Casts are not permitted on Behemoth, Launch Pad, Sledge Hammer, Skyrider, Time Warp and most SplashWorks attractions. Please speak to a ride attendant or view our Ride Admission Policy for more details.
