Greetings, Groove-ophiles! Here's some savage Gil Kane with a twist: Marvel's jungle lord Ka-Zar transplanted into the concrete jungle of NYC! The title is certainly appropriated for a tale by Groovy Gil: "...And Who Will Call Him Savage?" Written by Mike Friedrich and inked by Tom Sutton, I think you'll dig this little-seen gem from Astonishing Tales #15 (September 1971).

Happy 87th Birthday, Stan!
Here's wishing Smilin' Stan the swingingest birthday of all! Just for the occasion, Ol' Groove has written a special birthday ditty. Sing it to the tune of the jazzy 1967 Spidey cartoon theme and join me, won'tcha?
Stan The Man! Stan The Man!
Hero to every Marvel Fan!
Spins those words
With such glee!
Bringing joy
to fans like me!
Thanks Stan! You really are The Man!
When I feel the gloom
Your mags make my day!
Even Dr. Doom
Would have to stop and say...
Stan The Man! Stan The Man!
Slinging words like no one can!
Characters you can't ignore!
Spidey and so many more!
You gave
Heroes all those hang-ups!
Your mags are always bang-up!
Forever you're The Man!

Thanksgiving Feast 2009: Roy Thomas, Barry Smith, and Sal Buscema's "To End In Flame!"
Welcome back, my gluttonous Groove-ophiles! It's time for the final course in our Groovy Age Thanksgiving Feast, 2009! For dessert, what could be sweeter than Roy Thomas, Barry Smith, and Sal Buscema teaming up on a rarely seen Ka-Zar saga called "To End In Flame!" from Astonishing Tales #10 (November 1971)?
And there ya have it, baby! A Groovy Age Thanksgiving Feast that should satisfy the whole family! If ya thought the feast was far-out, you're gonna really dig what Ol' Groove dishes out for leftovers tomorrow!
