Ms. Grapes was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, where she received her early training from Melissa Morris, Yvonne Craig and the Kansas City Ballet School. In 2000, she received a scholarship to study at the University of Missouri-Kansas City where she trained extensively under the tutelage of Paula Weber and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts. Before joining Milwaukee Ballet, Ms. Grapes toured extensively throughout the United States and Europe performing with various national and international companies. This expanded her repertoire to include The Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, Carmen, Paquita, Don Quixote, Giselle and Alvin Ailey's The River to name a few. In 2008 Ms. Grapes was selected to represent Milwaukee Ballet at the Crossroads Ballet Festival in Kansas City, Missouri, where she performed the Black Swan pas de deux. She has also toured Australia as a guest performer and teacher. Since joining Milwaukee Ballet, Ms. Grapes' favorite roles have included the pas de trois from La Bayadere, the Feather Trio from Anthony Tudor's Offenbach in the Underworld, Michael Pink's Aubade, Jerome Robbins' Fancy Free, Timothy O'Donnell's The Games We Play, Adam Hougland's K413, Margo Sappington's Common People, and Mary Darling in Michael Pink's Peter Pan. Ms. Grapes is returning for her fourth season with Milwaukee Ballet and wishes to dedicate this season to her parents, Jim and Gail.
