  • The Senate, the Seanad and the Dáil

    January 25, 2010 @ 1:06 pm | by Deaglán de Bréadún

Sometimes things happen in politics that are almost inexplicable. For example, how could it happen that a US Senate seat which was held for so long by Edward Kennedy and, before that, his brother John, fall into the hands of the Republicans? (more…)

It’s not pretty. The venom in which he uses it is disturbing. He hurled the expletives at Emmet Stagg.

  • There may be trouble ahead

    August 25, 2009 @ 11:28 am | by Harry McGee

Over the past couple of years, I have done the Overlook Hotel metaphor to death when describing Leinster House during the summer months. (For those who are not film buffs, it’s the hotel to which Jack Nicholson takes his family in Stanley Kubrick’s film on Stephen King’s novel The Shining).

  • How to Bribe a Politician

    April 24, 2009 @ 10:48 am | by Deaglán de Bréadún

This just in. Never heard of this fellow, Ross O’Mullane before. His name has an unfortunate echo of the satirical character Ross O’Carroll-Kelly but I take it he’s for real and that his candidacy in Dublin South is genuine.
