Hendon hitman Belal Aite-Ouakrim is hoping he can help their Cup run continue this weekend, when they travel to Essex for a game with Chelsmford City and eyeing up a spot in the Second Round Proper.

The striker has played an important role in firing Gary McCann’s team on TheFA.com’s ‘Road To Wembley’ with goals in their victories over Whitehawk and Metropolitan Police in the previous two rounds and admits he is just enjoying what is his first real taste of The FA Cup.

Previously on the books of Fulham as a youngster before spells with the likes of Kingstonian, Windsor and AFC Wimbledon, the Londoner is now in his second spell at Hendon and looking to keep their Cup dreams alive.

"Everyone wants to play in The FA Cup and I haven't really had any luck in The FA Cup to be fair,” he told FATV.

"I've always been previously injured, but this year is my first real run in The FA Cup, so I want to make the most of it while it lasts.”

Aite-Ouakrim also revealed there is a confidence around the Hendon camp that they can get a result on Saturday to put themselves in the hat for the Second Round Proper, but he knows Chelmsford certainly won’t make it easy for them.

"It's very exciting and they're a good side,” he added.

"I've played them a couple of times before with my previous sides and I can remember winning on one occasion and losing on another, so hopefully this will be another win.

"We're just going to concentrate on our game and there's a real sense that we can achieve this year in The FA Cup, so all of the boys will be bang on it.

"We're just really excited about the next round and really confident.

"A lot of us have a feeling that we could go really far. If the draw is kind to us, then anything can happen.”
