Ottawa pulls out dramatic victory

By The Herald Staff

SALINA — The finish could not have been any sweeter for the Ottawa University football team Saturday in Salina.

The Braves scored two touchdowns in a span of 15 seconds in the final minute to pull out a 49-45 win over No. 23 Kansas Wesleyan.

The Braves drove 82 yards in plays in less than two minutes to pull within 45-42 with 48 seconds left.

Ottawa recovered the onside kick at the Coyote 40. On the first play, Bobby Adamson found Chris Davidsmeyer all alone in the end zone for the go ahead score.

Ottawa rallied from a 45-28 deficit in the third quarter, while Wesleyan scored three touchodowns in the final 4:30 of the first half to erase Ottawa's 21-3 cushion.
