|Residents in southern Songkhla province in Thailand have been affected by flooding after days of heavy rain, and provincial office Monday morning warned the people of possible flash floods.
A hospital in Na Thawi district in Songkhla had already evacuated 80 patients to the second floor after water level rose to 1.50 meters, only 50 centimeters lower than temporary barrier.
Four districts in Songkhla - Hat Yai, Sadao, Na Thawi and Saba Yoi were submerged by floodwaters after consecutive days of heavy rain.
Over 200 households in Saba Yoi district have been seriously stricken by flash floods and the water level is expected to rise above 2 meters if the rain continues.
The Meteorological Department issued a warning on Monday that a tropical depression in the lower Gulf of Thailand was centered about 350 km southeast of Songkhla.
The depression is expected to move through the lower South of the country on Monday and Tuesday, and forecasters warned residents in southern provinces of severe weather and possible flash floods.
