Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Journalists assigned to the Presidential Palace were relocated to a multi-purpose room of the State Secretariat building due to President Obama`s visit.

The journalists were not allowed to occupy the media room in the Presidential Palace as the Presidential Security Guards directed them to move to the multi-purpose room in the State Secretariat.

However, the room had been modified for the comfort of the journalists. Some food and beverages had been made available there and also a number of computers had been installed in the room, equipped with wireless Internet connection.

The new press room was meant for Indonesian journalists in the left section, whereas American journalists in the right section.

The journalists assigned to cover Austrian President Heinz Fischer`s visit had been also thoroughly inspected.

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono welcomed the Austrian President at 11.00 a.m. before greeting the US President at 5 p.m.

After conducting a bilateral meeting and signing a Memorandum of Understanding of inter-religious cooperation, President Yudhoyono and President Fischer attended a press conference.

Meanwhile, President Obama arrived at the Presidential Palace at 5 pm and was welcomed in a state ceremony.

The bilateral meeting between President Yudhoyono and President Obama was conducted at 5.45 p.m. and concluded with a joint press conference at 6.45 p.m.

Obama was also entertained at a state banquet at the Presidential Palace. (*)
