The Ten Network has stopped production on its Glee-inspired reality programme Don't Stop Believing after delaying the show's launch from early 2011 to later in the year.
TV Tonight reported this morning that the show had been pulled from the schedule despite being lavishly promoted at the network's 2011 upfronts launch.
Ten's chief programming officer David Mott confirmed to The Australian that the show had been postponed:
"Network Ten is reviewing Don't Stop Believing within its 2011 programme schedule and has elected to postpone the production indefinitely. It may return at a later date," he said.
The decision to drop the show from next year's schedule is not connected to the recent buy-in to Ten by James Packer and Lachlan Murdoch, a spokesperson for the network told the newspaper.
The series already had a poor start in the UK, failing to capture the imagination of viewers and sparking a standoff between broadcaster Channel Five and the producer Shine over outstanding fees for the programme.
